Episode 151 - He Which Hath Begun a Good Work in You

As we begin a new journey through The Epistle of Paul to the Philippians, we encounter a letter filled with warmth and encouragement. Paul is writing to believers he deeply loves. People who have supported him. Prayed for him. And shared in the work of the Gospel. Yet Paul is not focused merely on what they have accomplished. His attention is fixed on what God is accomplishing within them. Because the Christian life is not a project we complete by our own strength. It’s a work that God Himself has begun. And a work He continues every day.

Episode 150 - Certain Men Cleaved Unto Him

Paul's time in Athens is coming to a close. He’s stood before philosophers. Scholars. And seekers of every kind. He has proclaimed the Creator. The resurrection. Repentance. And the coming judgment. The responses have varied. Some mocked. Some wanted to hear more. Yet Luke ends this account by drawing our attention to something else. Not the crowd. Not the critics. Not even the curious. He focuses on those who believed. Those who heard the message and chose to draw near. And in doing so, they remind us where faith truly begins.

Episode 149 - We Will Hear Thee Again of This Matter

Paul has been speaking in Athens. He has proclaimed the Creator. The God who gives life and breath to all. The God who calls all people everywhere to repent. He has spoken of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. And the responses have been mixed. Some mocked. Some dismissed the message entirely. Yet not everyone reacted that way. Among the crowd were those who were not ready to believe, but neither were they ready to reject what they’d heard. And their response reminds us that God often works in hearts over time.

Episode 148 - Some Mocked

Paul has just delivered one of the most remarkable sermons in the Book of Acts. He’s spoken about the Creator. The God who gives life and breath to all. The God who calls all people everywhere to repent. The God who has appointed a day of righteous judgment. And then Paul proclaims the truth that stands at the center of the Christian faith. Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead. For some, this is a message of hope. For others, it becomes a stumbling block. And today we see that not everyone who hears the truth responds in the same way.

Episode 147 - He Hath Given Assurance Unto All Men

As Paul speaks in Athens, he is addressing people who value evidence. Reason. Philosophy. They want answers. Proof. Something they can examine and consider. Paul has told them that God calls all people everywhere to repent. He’s spoken of a coming day of righteous judgment. Now he explains why these things can be trusted. Because God has provided assurance. Not merely an idea. Not a theory. But an event in history that points directly to His truth.
