In this episode, journalist and director Charlotte Blum meets with Charles Peterson , the photographer who created the black and white, moving and breathing visual style of grunge. Peterson started his career as the official Sub Pop photographer, immortalizing Nirvana, Screaming Trees, Mudhoney and many more, as well as standing at the front row of every show of every band, from Pearl Jam to L7 and Seaweed. The interview takes place in his studio in Seattle.

During his now 30 years of career, Barrett Martin played with cult Seattle bands such as Skin Yard, Screaming Trees and Mad Season before founding The Barrett Martin Group in 2004. In the 80s, Megan Jasper started a long career alongside the label’s co-fondators Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman as a receptionist and fell in love with the creativity, the bravery and the humor that ran in Sub Pop’s veins. The conversation takes place in the label’s headquarters in Seattle, surrounded by stickers of Mudhoney, Soundgarden, The Shins, Fleet Foxes and Sleater-Kinney.
