In this episode, we trace their story from meeting and marriage to the birth of their son Noah, the mounting marital strain and alleged affairs, and the day Robert Ame found a Rubbermaid tub in the Arizona desert containing a torso. We stop at the discovery of the partial remains and unpack the timeline, key players, and early investigative questions that turned a missing-person case into a chilling Phoenix true crime mystery. What you’ll hear in this episode * Vegas to Scottsdale: how Marjorie and Jay met and built a life in Arizona * Inside the marriage: work travel, money stress, and alleged affairs * The disappearance: Jay’s final routine, missed calls, and red flags * The discovery: a Rubbermaid storage tub in the desert and the pivot in the case sources used for this podcast [https://www.hitched2homicide.com/post/marjorie-orbin] Support the show [https://www.buymeacoffee.com/Hitched2Homicide] JOIN THE HITCHED 2 HOMICIDE IN-LAWS AND OUTLAWS [https://www.facebook.com/groups/h2hinlawsandoutlaws] START KRIS CALVERT'S BOOKS TODAY FOR FREE [https://www.kriscalvert.com/free] H2H WEBSITE [https://www.hitched2homicide.com/] H2H on TWITTER [https://twitter.com/H2H_Podcast] H2H on INSTA [https://www.instagram.com/hitched2homicide/?hl=en]

We walk through the timeline from the nursery note to the fatal discovery, examine the money trail and the famed forensic ladder analysis, and revisit the Bruno Richard Hauptmann verdict alongside competing theories (lone actor vs. accomplices, the Fische box explanation, and inside-help rumors). We close with a careful look at the aviator’s later-revealed secret children in Germany—what’s DNA-confirmed and what remains unverified. What you’ll learn • Key locations, dates, and the ransom hand-off to “Cemetery John” • How marked gold certificates and the “wooden witness” shaped the case • Why the Federal Kidnapping Act (the “Lindbergh Law”) mattered • Which theories persist—and why historians still argue If you enjoy historically grounded, non-sensational true crime, follow and rate the show—it helps others find us. A ladder was left behind. There were ransom notes, voluntary liaisons, suicides, a nationwide search, and help from not only J. Edgar Hoover, but the President of the United States. When little Charlie's body was found two months later near the Lindbergh's home, the search was on for a killer. And they found one. Or did they? This 93-year-old case is the most publicized of the 20th century. sources used for this podcast [https://www.hitched2homicide.com/post/the-lindbergh-baby-kidnapping] Support the show [https://www.buymeacoffee.com/Hitched2Homicide] JOIN THE HITCHED 2 HOMICIDE IN-LAWS AND OUTLAWS [https://www.facebook.com/groups/h2hinlawsandoutlaws] START KRIS CALVERT'S BOOKS TODAY FOR FREE [https://www.kriscalvert.com/free] H2H WEBSITE [https://www.hitched2homicide.com/] H2H on TWITTER [https://twitter.com/H2H_Podcast] H2H on INSTA [https://www.instagram.com/hitched2homicide/?hl=en]

At first, doctors called all but one of the deaths “crib death” or SIDS, but patterns emerged that couldn’t be ignored. Eventually, Marybeth confessed to smothering her 4-month-old daughter, Tami Lynne, and was convicted of second-degree murder in 1987. But why would a mother kill her children? Many experts believe Marybeth’s case reflects Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome (now known as Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another), where caregivers fabricate or induce illness in children for attention, sympathy, or control. In this episode of Hitched 2 Homicide, we uncover: * The shocking timeline of the Tinning children’s deaths * How Marybeth shifted between confessions and denials * The unwavering loyalty of her husband, Joe * The role of doctors, investigators, and forensic pathologists in piecing together the truth * A deep dive into Munchausen by Proxy Syndrome and how it connects to this case Marybeth Tinning was paroled in 2018 after more than 30 years behind bars. But her story remains one of the darkest chapters in American true crime history—a chilling example of a mother who weaponized motherhood itself. 💍 Subscribe to Hitched 2 Homicide for more true crime stories, notorious killers, and criminal psychology deep dives—told with southern humor and heart. 👉 Follow us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts—and don’t forget to leave a review to help other true crime fans find us!
