This episode is all about neurodiversity and always with special subjects, Rachel and Jo have a friend joining them. If you look Taylor Handsley up on LinkedIn, she’ll tell you she’s a mom and she’s autistic but alongside that she was one of the original team at Refinery29 in New York, worked for Amazon in London as Head of Content on their Private Labels before moving to Amsterdam with Edelman and Hey Honey. She’s a guru of all things content and social and is now expanding her own business, Tailored the Agency. Having been diagnosed in her 30’s, Taylor talks us through her experience working within the creative world and how life would be so much easier if we all came with a crib sheet. She also gives some pointers about how to interview neurodiverse people and make the world a more harmonious place. We think we covered everything but if you have any more questions for Rachel and Jo, then please do reach out on podcast@talentatelier.com, or browse our growing archive of articles on www.talentatelier.com. Welcome to The Atelier where we workshop your work life, brought to you by Talent Atelier, the Executive Search business where we essentially act as a dating agency between businesses and people. This is a guide about how to be a better Ally to LGBTQIA+ people in the workplace. We’ve got the brilliant Allegra Haines (proud trans woman, activist and owner of talent agency, The Booking Project) joining us on the couch to help navigate the way. Together we cover topics such as; how employers can help their transitioning employees, how to be supportive of your LGBTQIA+ colleagues all year round (not just in June) and why it's common for creative companies to assume allyship without putting in the work needed. We think we covered everything but if you have any more questions for Rachel and Jo, then please do reach out on podcast@talentatelier.com, or browse our growing archive of articles on www.talentatelier.com. This week Rachel and Jo invited Rani Patel to chat about her experiences with mentoring. Rani Patel is the Founder and Managing Director of the new powerhouse Creative Collective, Calling. Before launching the new type of Advertising agency in January of this year, Rani led award winning work at some of the best creative agencies in London. She won the #futureisfemale award for Advertising Week Europe in 2021 and is now sitting on the judge's panel ensuring the next generation of female creatives are empowered and heard. We talk through Rani's experiences as a young, black and south asian woman entering into the world of advertising who was searching for her mentor soulmate, through to becoming a thought leader and mentor herself.
