Pesach: Showing Up As Your Authentic Self

In this episode, I’m joined by Rachelle Beyda as we explore a deeply personal and spiritual question: how do we approach Hashem from where we truly are while still reaching toward who we hope to become? Together, we discuss how to learn about the great spiritual heights we can reach without placing unrealistic expectations on ourselves. And when we recognize that we may not yet be able to live at that level, how do we avoid the quiet despair that can slowly lower our standards, our dreams, and our belief in who we are capable of becoming? We explore the challenge of loving and embracing ourselves where we are right now while still striving for growth. Through the lens of Pesach, we reflect on Egypt as both a historical place and an inner experience, and consider what Pharaoh might symbolize in our lives today. Drawing on an insight from Rabbi Yaakov Danishefsky, we arrive at a powerful idea: placing ourselves in the Seder means showing up as our real, authentic selves—and allowing the Seder to meet us exactly in that place.

When Concealment Becomes Revelation

Megillat Esther is a book that never mentions Hashem’s name, and yet it reveals Him more than almost any other. In this episode, we learn Rabbi Akiva Tatz’s powerful insights from Worldmask and confront the central question of Purim: How is concealment actually revelation? We delve into the spiritual root of Haman, the Torah essence of Amalek, and the battle against a worldview that denies meaning beneath the surface. Purim teaches us that when Hashem is most hidden, He may be the most close, and that our task is to uncover Him.
