Why We Turn Away

Life doesn't go the way we thought it would - in marriage, parenting, retirement, ministry, and more. We often want to change the way God works. Maybe it is because of our own weaknesses. Perhaps the truth hurts too much. Our worship might subtly shift from God to people. Perhaps your sanctification process is long and arduous and you turn away when it gets hard. Change is possible. Why We Turn Back

Too often we fall back on self-reliance, idols, and our old way of thinking rather than relying on God. Like the Israelites in Egypt, we believe slavery and idols are better for us somehow. In reality, they keep us trapped. Idols do not want a relationship with us. Jesus does. He made us. He loves us. Make your surety and security firmly set in Christ.
