Finally, God's promise is perceived when a small cloud appears on the horizon, growing into a mighty rainstorm that ends the drought. Through this passage, we see that God's power brings restoration, persistent faith is rewarded, and God's promises always come to pass in His perfect timing.

Dr. Mika Edmondson.  In 1 Kings 18:16–39, Ahab calls Elijah the “troubler of Israel,” but Elijah reveals that Israel’s real problem is its worship of idols instead of God. Though Elijah stands alone against Baal’s 450 prophets, God proves He alone is the true and living God. The story shows that idols are cruel and empty, demanding sacrifice from people, while the true God brings freedom and gives Himself for His people.
