Links to Messiah is where faith, family and the profound impact of the Jewish Messiah converge. Hi, I’m Rachel and was raised in a Messianic Jewish home where my parents ensured that my sisters and I understood our Jewish roots and how the Old Testament all pointed directly to our Messiah, Jesus. We explore the Jewish roots of the Bible. We discuss the importance of understanding feasts and festivals. We highlight how these traditions are intricately linked to the narrative of the Jewish Messiah. You will find additional resources at www.LinkstoMessiah.com. Ep. 112 - My Final Episode: Trusting the Lord with What Comes Next

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2278559/fan_mail/new] Today’s episode is a personal one. After much prayer and time with the Lord, I’m sharing why this will be the final episode of the Links to Messiah podcast. Over the past months, I’ve sensed the Lord inviting me into a quieter season. There are places in my heart shaped by grief, especially the loss of my son David, that I need to sit with Him more intentionally. I want to follow where He is leading, even when that means laying something meaningful down. This podcast has always been about helping families connect the Old and New Testaments, understand the Jewish roots of faith in Jesus, and build rhythms around the table that last for generations. It has been a privilege to walk alongside you and your children as we explored Scripture together. While the podcast is coming to a close, all past episodes will remain available here as a library for your family. I hope you return to them often as you continue opening God’s Word together. Thank you for listening. Thank you for caring about legacy. Thank you for wanting your children to know the story of redemption from beginning to end. If these episodes helped your family understand the feasts, discover the Jewishness of Jesus, or gather more intentionally around Scripture, I am deeply grateful I got to be part of your journey. Though this chapter is closing, the heart behind Links to Messiah continues. I still care deeply about helping families grow in faith together at home, and I’m trusting the Lord with whatever comes next. Until then, Keep opening Scripture with your children.  Keep gathering around the table.   Keep pointing your family to Jesus. He is faithful in every season.  Start creating your family’s legacy today. Ep. 111 - The Missing Piece of Easter: Discovering Passover with Your Kids (Feat. Rene A. Wallace)

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2278559/fan_mail/new] What does Passover have to do with Easter? In this episode, Rachel Kushner sits down with children’s author Rene Annette Wallace to talk about helping kids understand the beautiful connection between the biblical celebration of Passover and the story of Jesus. Rene’s book, Zoe Discovers Passover at Easter, invites children into the story through curiosity, discovery, and family conversation. Together we explore why teaching the Jewish roots of our faith helps children see Scripture as one unified story of redemption. Rene’s book is also featured in this year’s Links to Messiah Passover Family Boxes, designed to help families experience Scripture together through reading, activities, and hands-on learning. If you’ve ever wondered how to make Passover meaningful for your kids, this conversation will inspire you. Connect with Rene A. Episode 110: Heroes of the Faith: Esther. (feat. Purim)

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2278559/fan_mail/new] In this episode, Rachel Kushner retells the story of Esther through the lens of covenant and promise. The book of Esther never mentions the name of God, yet His faithfulness is woven through every chapter. When Haman plots to destroy the Jewish people in Persia, it looks like the end of the story. But behind palace doors and sleepless nights, God is quietly preserving His covenant promise to Abraham. This episode also introduces the family activity “Hidden but Not Absent,” where children search for the Hebrew name Elohim as a reminder that even when God’s name is not written, He is still sovereign and working. If you are longing to build family legacy around the table and help your children understand that God keeps His promises, this episode will encourage you deeply. Ep. 109: Heroes of the Faith - David, the Beloved

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2278559/fan_mail/new] In this episode, Rachel Kushner reflects on how David’s faith was formed in quiet places, how he trusted God in both victory and failure, and why Scripture calls him a man after God’s own heart. David’s story reminds us that faith is not about perfection. It is about returning to God again and again. Rachel also shares tenderly about her own son, David, and how the meaning of his name has shaped her understanding of love, grief, and identity. This episode includes a gentle content note regarding the loss of an adult child. David’s life ultimately points us to Jesus, the Beloved Son. Identity comes before accomplishment. Love comes before victory. As you gather around your table this week, may the word beloved echo in your home and settle gently in your own heart. Start creating your family’s legacy today. Ep. 108 - Heroes of the Faith: A Bee Named Deborah

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2278559/fan_mail/new] IIn this episode, we continue our new series on the Heroes of the Faith with a woman whose name tells us so much about her story. Deborah, or Devorah in Hebrew, means bee. Small, focused, hardworking, and protective, a bee is a perfect picture of how God used Deborah to lead His people with courage and wisdom. Listen in as Rachel Kushner retells the story of Judges chapters 4 and 5 in a way kids and parents can enjoy side by side. We explore the Jewish roots of Deborah’s story, from her role as a judge and prophetess to the powerful song she sang to celebrate and remember what God had done. Deborah’s story reminds us that courage begins with listening to God and trusting Him enough to go when He says, “Go.” This episode invites families to slow down, gather, and remember that God often works through unexpected people. Just as God raised up Deborah to bring peace to Israel, He sent Jesus to bring lasting peace to the world. The same faithful God is still at work in our families today.
