Episode 018 - Moses Part 4 — The Nile Turns and the Frogs Rise Cover

018 - Moses Part 4 — The Nile Turns and the Frogs Rise

Moses: The Road to the Promised Land — Part 4: The Nile Turns and the Frogs Rise Pharaoh has already seen the staff become a serpent. He has already watched Aaron’s staff swallow the staffs of Egypt’s magicians. He has already been warned by the Lord. But Pharaoh still refuses to let God’s people go. In this episode of Nate’s Bible Stories, we continue the dramatic showdown between Moses and Pharaoh in Exodus 7 and 8. The Lord strikes Egypt with the first two plagues: the Nile turns to blood, and frogs cover the land. The Nile River was the lifeblood of Egypt. Its waters fed crops, carried trade, supplied fish, and sustained the kingdom. Egypt trusted the Nile. Egypt trusted Pharaoh. Egypt trusted its gods. But through these plagues, the Lord shows that He alone rules over creation, kings, rivers, nations, and every false god people place their trust in. Watch as: • Moses confronts Pharaoh at the Nile • Aaron strikes the river with his staff • The waters of Egypt turn to blood • Fish die and the river begins to stink • Pharaoh’s magicians imitate the sign but cannot heal the river • Frogs swarm over Egypt, filling homes, ovens, bedrooms, and kneading bowls • Pharaoh begs Moses to plead with the Lord for relief • God removes the frogs at the exact time Pharaoh requested • Pharaoh hardens his heart once again This episode also explores the symbolic meaning of the seven days the Nile remained struck. Throughout the Bible, numbers often carry meaning, and the Bible expects us to notice that. The plague lasting seven days shows that this judgment was measured, intentional, and fully under the Lord’s control. The magicians of Egypt could imitate parts of the signs, but they could not stop judgment, bring healing, or provide relief. Only the Lord could do that. Pharaoh begins to realize what all Egypt will soon learn: there is no one like the Lord our God. Perfect for: • Christian families • Bible study for kids and adults • Homeschool Bible lessons • Sunday school supplements • Bedtime Bible stories • Kids learning the story of Moses and the Exodus • Parents looking for faithful biblical storytelling • Listeners interested in Old Testament theology and biblical symbolism In this episode we discuss: • Moses and Pharaoh • The ten plagues of Egypt • The Nile turning to blood • The plague of frogs • Hardness of heart • False gods and idols • God’s judgment and mercy • Exodus 7 and 8 explained • Biblical symbolism in the plagues • Why Pharaoh hardened his heart • Yahweh versus the gods of Egypt Search terms: Moses, Exodus, Pharaoh, ten plagues, Nile turns to blood, plague of frogs, Exodus 7, Exodus 8, Bible stories for kids, Christian podcast for families, Nate’s Bible Stories, Moses and Pharaoh, Old Testament stories, Bible podcast, kids Bible story, homeschool Bible, Sunday school story, Yahweh vs Egypt, hardening Pharaoh’s heart, biblical symbolism, Christian storytelling, Bible study podcast, family Bible podcast, theology for kids, Bible lessons for children, plagues of Egypt explained, river Nile blood, frogs in Egypt, Aaron staff, Moses podcast, Christian audio story

Episode 017 - Moses Part 3 - A Message for Pharaoh Cover

017 - Moses Part 3 - A Message for Pharaoh

Moses: The Road to the Promised Land Part 3 — A Message for Pharaoh Based on Exodus chapters 5 through 7 Moses has finally returned to Egypt. After years in the wilderness, he now stands before Pharaoh with a message from the Lord: “Let My people go.” But Pharaoh refuses. Instead of freeing the Israelites, Pharaoh makes their suffering worse. The slaves are forced to gather their own straw while still making the same number of bricks. The people cry out in exhaustion, fear, and anger. Even Moses begins to question why God sent him at all. Yet in the middle of the suffering, God reminds Moses of something important: He has not forgotten His people. He remembers His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and He promises that He will rescue Israel with great acts of judgment and power. This episode follows the first great confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh and begins the spiritual battle that will shape the entire Exodus story. When Aaron throws down his staff before Pharaoh and it becomes a serpent, Egypt’s magicians copy the sign with their secret arts. For a moment, it looks like a contest between equal powers. But then Aaron’s serpent swallows theirs whole. The message is clear. The God of Israel is greater than Pharaoh, greater than Egypt, and greater than every false god the nation trusted in. This story is about more than politics or freedom from slavery. It is about who truly rules the world. Pharaoh believed he was untouchable. Egypt trusted in wealth, power, idols, magic, armies, and kings. But the Lord is about to reveal that no ruler, nation, or spiritual power can stand against Him. In this episode, kids and families will learn: • Why Pharaoh hardened his heart against God • Why obedience to God sometimes makes life harder before it gets better • How the suffering of Israel tested Moses’ faith • Why God reminded Israel of His covenant promises • The meaning of Aaron’s staff becoming a serpent • How the Exodus story challenges the false gods of Egypt • That God rules over kings, nations, and every power on earth Perfect for Christian families, homeschool Bible study, bedtime listening, Sunday school discussions, and children who love dramatic Bible storytelling. Episode 016 - Moses Part 2 - Send Someone Else Cover

016 - Moses Part 2 - Send Someone Else

Moses: The Road to the Promised Land Part 2 — “Send Someone Else” Based on Exodus chapters 3–4 Today we continue the story of Moses at the burning bush, where God called him by name. But being called by God doesn’t always feel brave. Sometimes it feels terrifying. Moses isn’t standing there like a hero—he’s a runaway shepherd, unsure, unqualified, and afraid. So when God tells him to go to Pharaoh and lead His people out of Egypt, Moses does something very human: He makes excuses. “Who am I?” “What if they don’t believe me?” “What do I even say?” “I’m not a good speaker…” And finally, the most honest one of all: “Please… send someone else.” But God doesn’t back away. Instead, He meets every fear with truth. “I will be with you.” “I AM has sent you.” “I will help you speak.” God gives Moses signs of His power—over nature, over sickness, over fear itself. He reminds Moses that this mission doesn’t depend on Moses’ ability, but on God’s presence. And when Moses still struggles, God provides help—his brother Aaron. Moses doesn’t get out of the calling. But he doesn’t go alone. In this episode, kids will learn that God doesn’t wait for us to feel ready—He calls us and walks with us. Fear doesn’t disqualify you. Excuses don’t cancel obedience. And when God sends you, He also gives you what you need. What We Learned: • God calls people before they feel brave and promises to be with them. • Moses’ excuses showed his fear, but God answered each one with truth. • God is patient, but He still calls His people to obey. • God often gives help for hard callings, like Aaron for Moses. Application: Sometimes we make excuses because we’re scared or uncomfortable. Maybe it’s telling the truth, apologizing, helping someone, or doing what’s right when it’s hard. God doesn’t ask you to feel fearless—He asks you to trust Him. He is the one who gives courage and help. And when obedience feels too heavy, ask God for support. The better prayer isn’t just, “Make this easy,” but “Be with me, and help me obey.” ⸻ Search terms: kids Bible story, Moses burning bush, Exodus 3 4, Christian kids podcast, Bible stories for kids, Moses and Aaron, faith and obedience, trusting God, Sunday school audio, family Bible teaching

015 - Moses Part 1 - From the Nile to the Burning Bush

Moses: The Road to the Promised Land — Part 1: A Baby in the River Based on Exodus 1–3 When Moses was born, God’s people were not free—they were slaves in Egypt. But how did they get there? What happened to God’s promise to Abraham? This episode follows the story from Joseph to Moses—how a family that once found safety in Egypt became a nation in chains. As fear rises, Pharaoh makes a cruel decree, and one mother is forced to make an impossible choice: trust God with her baby’s life. From a basket in the Nile… to the halls of Pharaoh’s palace… to a burning bush in the wilderness… This is the beginning of one of the greatest rescue stories in the Bible. Along the way, we’ll learn to recognize key Bible themes and symbols—like how God’s presence is often shown through fire—and how God works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary plans. Perfect for kids, teens, and families, this episode helps listeners understand not just what happened—but how to read the Bible more clearly. Episode 014 - Genesis - The Beginning of Everything Cover

014 - Genesis - The Beginning of Everything

Genesis: The Beginning of Everything Based on Genesis 1:1–2:3 Before there was land, sea, sky, sun, moon, stars, animals, or people—God was already there. In this episode, we explore Genesis 1 the way ancient listeners may have heard it: a world covered by darkness and the deep, where God brings order out of chaos by His word. We look at the heavens, the waters above and below, the dry land, the lights in the sky, the creatures of sea and land, and humans made in God’s image. We also follow this theme through the rest of the Bible, where Psalms and prophets describe God ruling the raging sea, defeating Leviathan and Rahab, and promising a day when chaos will be gone forever. God speaks. Creation obeys. Order comes. Life grows. Peace follows. Kids Bible stories, teen Bible story, Genesis, creation, chaos and order, biblical symbolism, Leviathan, Rahab, Bible podcast, ages 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14.
