Episode Help Me Monetise This Channel! Cover

Help Me Monetise This Channel!

I have worked harder on my YouTube channels over the past 6.5 years than I have ever worked a day job, yet my channel still isn't monetised! 💰 It's all free labour. You can help by binge-watching some of my Playlists! (Just click "Play" and then go do your thing! You don't have to physically watch them! 😄) I do stand a good chance of getting monetised this year, as I have well over 1000 subscribers on this channel, and I will be throwing a LOT of content at YouTube in the coming months. Here are the playlists of my videos dating up until early this year. Nobel Cats 2024 - 2025: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6YqUivZW791eub3E5WUqgRA Heidi Nobel's Vlogs 2024: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6bNna1eS1AkcfTFEn1UE5_7 Heidi Nobel's Vlogs 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6bE9FxZ8qXprWQM_SNAybC6 Heidi Nobel's Vlogs 2018 - 2022: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6aGry15bjcmFs2CHIrShiL6 Singing Challenge 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6b6zzWeFUmFUHlL6VelpDGr Singing & Guitar 2020 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6YdcH_qxigbb2vC7RBsjgNl Mandala Art 2019 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6aA9CirHLDXrPWjxVqnB3P2 Hula Heidi 2022 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6ZDumM02Q2N2rN69XudAATE Yoga with Heidi 2018 - 2023: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6YDHjXewVfq2SK-QXu_LA76 Nobel News: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-pC98-GoD6Z3uZDUwoknQc_0iDik2CbP I have also created three new playlists for the videos that will be released this year. They are: Heidi’s Favourite’s Heidi’s Love Quest While I Was Away I have plenty of new playlists waiting in the wings for the coming years. These playlists are in honour of the many different channels and channel names I have had over the years. I won’t be releasing them all next year, as I would rather build up a collection of videos first and give my existing playlists a time to shine. I will announce the playlists that I will release next year later this year. Different Niches on Different Channels For 4.5 years, I have experimented with different channels and niches. I was on the right path, but I didn't realise that I could do everything I love to do under one channel. I will unapologetically do so from now on! 😁 I look forward to starting afresh with this channel next year (but first, I will be taking many online detoxes!). These past two months have been extremely challenging but also exciting and character-building! I didn't realise just HOW patient and persistent I am! (Albeit at the detriment of my health!) This channel is a labour of love. I hope you will enjoy my videos as much as I have enjoyed creating them! First came analysis paralysis/problem solving (and at times, mania! 😂), then came intensive labour (and more problem solving). As of June, it will be all about enjoying the fruits of my labour and getting to know new people from around the world who stumble across my content. Then, creative bliss! 💕 I can't wait for the fun to begin! 😀🎹 Talk soon! Heidi Nobel This is a public episode. Episode Moved All My Videos To My Original YouTube Channel Cover

Moved All My Videos To My Original YouTube Channel

Good Evening. Welcome to my Nobel News Podcast. The past two months were the busiest two months I have ever had, where my YouTube content creation is concerned, and that’s saying something! I have learnt that I never want to work so hard on my YouTube channel again. It’s easy for YouTube to feel like an obligation, especially when your subscriber numbers grow, but I always want to permit myself to take off for weeks, months or even years, if I ever feel like it. I should never feel like I owe people an apology or an explanation if I don’t have a new video up every week. I want YouTube to feel like an outlet for my creative expression, nothing more, nothing less. That said, I am proud of my “never give up!” attitude over the past two months. I have been patient, disciplined and resilient. But I will be kinder to myself and my body from here on in. Once or twice, I cancelled appointments with friends, my choir group and the owner of a dog I walk due to mental and physical exhaustion. There were times when I didn’t sleep at all, and I ran on empty! I treated food and sleep as an afterthought while I was completely absorbed in, and snowed under, my content creation work. For weeks, it felt like there wasn’t an end in sight. Countless hours were put into planning my renewed content creation journey. I updated my Substack account, YouTube channels and Podcasts more times than I can say, but finally, I have made it out of the woods. I can see clear blue skies and inhale fresh air once more! Moving to My Original Channel On May 16th, I decided to move all of my old videos, which I had released on different YouTube channels over the years, to my original channel. This was my last-ditch effort to help me monetise my channel. I also decided to make this big move to simplify my YouTube journey moving forward. After experimenting with different channels over the past 4.5 years, I have finally concluded that having a one-niche channel isn’t for me. If that means I may never have a huge YouTube channel, so be it! It’s more important that I create with passion and purpose than make money (although money would be a welcome bonus!) I have been a YouTuber since October 8th, 2018. I deserve to have my channel monetised. I believe that can and will happen within the next 6 - 12 months. Moving back home to this channel was a no-brainer. I was struggling to get two of my spare channels up to 300 subscribers, whereas my original channel had over 5 times that amount! You need 1000 subscribers or more to qualify for YouTube monetisation. Now I just need the watch hours, and I think, with the amount of content I will be releasing over the next 6 months, I will get there. My “Anything Goes” YouTube Channel Going forward, I will see this as my "Anything Goes!" personal hobby and vlogging channel. I can always niche out on one of my spare channels in the future if I feel driven to do so. But for now, it's clear that I want and need one channel where I can do whatever I feel like, whenever I feel like it! That said, there will still be structure to this channel. Starting next year, I plan on releasing one vlog and one podcast episode per week. A vlog will be replaced with a hobby-related video on the fourth weekend of every month (although there may be times when I feel like having hobby-only months, and that’s OK too!) I may post more or less than two videos per week, but two per week will be what I will initially aim for. Today, I was sketching ideas for my thumbnails. It was going to be simple - A profile pic for vlogs and a mandala pic for podcast episodes. But I think it could be fun to have a symbol for each video that is not a podcast episode. E.g. - A musical note to signify that it is a music video, or a heart to signify that the video is about love. I think I will start with basic standard symbols sourced free from Pixabay, and pop that on top of my purple background. I can always experiment with images of me drawing, writing, or playing the guitar, etc. But we'll start simple and go from there! It will be a good way for people to identify what my video is about, and it will look nice for my Substack home page, which is where I will share links to all my videos. Content Released on My Channel I hope you are enjoying the content that I have released on my channel so far! I plan on breaking it up after my roller-skating/hula hooping and acting videos by adding a little intro video of me briefly sharing what I have been up to with this channel (that’s the podcast episode you are listening to now 🙂) and what I have planned for this channel moving forward. Starting next month, I will release all the podcast episodes that I created in May this year. I want to share my podcast episodes sooner rather than later because, not only will it give people an idea of what I have been up to in recent times and what led to this big YouTube transition, but also because most of them are audio-only videos and truth be told, they are a little dull! (A couple I won't share for that reason!) I don't want to share my earliest podcast episodes when I potentially have a big audience in a couple of months from now! It would be an anticlimax. It's much better to share them before the good stuff begins! Dull or not, I do still want to share them. It will only take five days, and it's a way for me to honour the start of my journey, just like I have been doing this month with the start of my musical, acting, hula hooping and roller-skating journey 😊 These podcasts took me a long time to edit. I have since found a better way of recording them: I will film myself reading my scripts (as I am here). I will also be less pedantic about my audio editing. We all have to start somewhere. We learn what works best as we go! Before I decided to move back to my original YouTube channel, I wrote many Nobel News scripts for upcoming podcast episodes. Even though some of this news is no longer valid, I still want to honour these scripts and share the unaltered versions of them. It was all part of the journey that led to my big YouTube transition. It’s good to share the earlier planning and work that got me here, not just the end result! You will still get plenty of fresh Nobel News from me. A new Nobel News show will be released at the end of every month. There may also be a behind-the-scenes content creation Nobel News episode in the middle of each month starting next year (that’s if I have content creation news to share! 😊). Coming Up on Simply Nobel Once all of my Nobel News podcast episodes have been shared, I will re-publish videos released on this channel between 2023 and 2024. I felt it was worth giving these videos a second chance to shine, and now was as good a time as ever to re-release them. They have been added to my “Heidi’s Favourites” Playlist (Coming Soon!) Next, I will share videos from a Playlist titled “Heidi’s Love Quest”. I won’t be sharing any more about these videos, you will just have to wait and see! Lastly, I will release my “While I Was Away!” videos, which were videos I released on other channels between January 2024 and May this year. All of this will take until the 11th of November! So I can finally have a well-earned YouTube break (once I have added End Cards to all my videos and uploaded/scheduled Shorts from different channels - But I’m taking my time with that!) I am loving this journey of personal, creative and professional development! I am so thankful I have had this chunk of time to dive headfirst into this work without any external life distractions! A new job may be on the horizon soon, so I’m glad I got all this foundation work in place between now and then! I finally know which way I am swimming (Unlike the last two turbulent "figuring it out as I go!" months) Getting lost in my YouTube journey was all part of it, but I'm so thankful to be out of the creative whirlpool that was sucking me under! I am swimming freely once more! As my beautiful, late, supportive mother, Katie Nobel used to say: "Just keep swimming!" đŸŠâ€â™€ïžđŸ€ That I shall 😊 Thank you for listening! Stay Nobel! Episode "It's Time to Go Big or Go Home" Cover

"It's Time to Go Big or Go Home"

Yesterday, I announced on my Simply Nobel [http://youtube.com/@simplynobel] channel that I was feeling frustrated with my lack of YouTube growth. I spent half the day procrastinating and feeling gloomy, not just about my lack of YouTube success, but about my lack of productivity in general! Impulsively, I decided it’s time to go big or go home! Rather than quitting YouTube, which I sometimes feel like doing. I decided I would release daily content! I have tried a 30-day YouTube challenge before; the best I did was a few years ago, when I tried a 30-day singing challenge. I lasted 21 days before catching the flu! I created hundreds of YouTube Shorts. Unfortunately, my efforts were in vain, I gained little reward for my efforts, where new subscribers were concerned (Guess I’m not much of a singer!) Didn’t I Say I Was Going to Take it Easy? Last week, I announced that I may only send monthly newsletters and record monthly Nobel News episodes. I also decided that releasing a weekly Simply Nobel Podcast episode and Vlog per week may be too much, certainly if I also want to create semi-regular Nobel Cats [http://youtube.com/@nobelcats] and Nobel Soul [http://youtube.com/@nobelsoul] content. Now, I am not only vlogging daily, but I am also attempting to release a short Simply Nobel podcast episode each night! What gives? I am known to act impulsively at times. Last month was a big one, so one may say that I need to take a break. But I’m starting to feel that it’s now or never! I have taken it relatively easy with my channels over the past few years - For an unemployed person, anyway. I have the time to create now, so create I shall! I Will Not Be a Workaholic This next month, I am practising getting more productive with content creation, and also with my life in general! All while still making my health a priority. I learnt last month that I pushed myself way too hard! Working as much as I did (albeit mostly all behind the scenes) is not sustainable. Neither is vlogging and podcasting daily, but it’s not forever, it’s just for now! Despite my increased workload, I plan on starting my days the right way! No checking YouTube until 12 pm each day. I am only permitting myself to check messages and stats twice per day, and with time, I will check less! I also plan on bulk filming so that I will be able to take days off! Last night was a late one; I slept at 2.30 am again, after editing out the background noise of my spontaneous, late-night podcast episode. During the night, I dreamt about editing! And I woke up bright and early at 7 am. Despite starting my daily content creation journey on a tired note, I am very happy with the way I started the day (more on that in my next vlog!) and that I’m not using tiredness as an excuse to not create. Don’t get me wrong, resting is important! And rest I shall. I do think it’s possible to achieve effortless effort! Over the next month, I’m permitting myself to let go of perfectionism and to go with the creative flow. See what happens when I stop trying so hard and just have fun with it! I will overcome my habit of obsessing over stats. I will take my time responding to comments, and I will limit my time online. I will also remember to be productive and have a life outside of content creation! I will make my health a priority again. I will share my journey with you as I walk it! Thank you for listening! Episode Felt Like Calling it Quits Cover

Felt Like Calling it Quits

Today I felt disheartened, and pissed off for the first time! About my lack of YouTube success. I have been chiselling away for years now, and my renewed channel has less than 300 subscribers. Insane! It’s starting to get embarrassing at this point. I have reached a point where I don’t know if being a YouTuber is what will give me fulfilment (although I can’t see myself doing anything else that I would enjoy more!) and where I don’t know if I’m cut out to be a YouTuber. However, instead of feeling sorry for myself and wasting more time procrastinating, I decided to channel my anger and frustration into passion and productivity. It’s time for me to go big, or go home! Over the next month or two, I am going to attempt to create daily vlogs. Maybe, just maybe, a handful of them will do well, and I will finally start gaining some momentum on my channel! If I can monetise at least one channel within the next year (aiming big here!), that would be amazing! Maybe my 7 years on YouTube will then finally have all been worth it! So buckle up, folks! It’s time for Heidi to toss her perfectionist and procrastinating ways out the window, and create like she has never created before! We’re going for quantity over quality, baby! Me simply being me, mistakes and all! Already, my first video about feeling frustrated about my lack of YouTube success is getting more views than my usual upload, which is promising. But it’s still early days! It feels liberating to finally stop being so pedantic where editing is concerned and to just create! I, Heidi Nobel, permit myself, to write freely, to podcast imperfectly, and to let the camera roll, even if I get a little tongue-tied. Time to show the real, perfectly imperfect side of me, and to just have fun creating! Perfectionism can feel very crippling at times, and it can slow the creative flow way down. Done is better than perfect! Let’s go! This is a public episode. Episode Being a Content Creator Cover

Being a Content Creator

In my first Simply Nobel podcast episode [https://youtu.be/eklwBcDzpug?si=P2_liQUyOD4pxxtk], I said that I was finally getting clear on my content creation journey đŸ€ Little did I know that things would get more complicated before they got simpler! Being a creator feels like riding the waves of the ocean It’s a thrill! One minute you’re up, and all is well in the world again. The next minute, you dive straight into the tumultuous ocean. Unable to make out which way is up and which way is down! 🌀 Over the past 2 weeks, sleep, food and exercise were almost non-existent. I HAD to find my way out of that wild ocean. The problem was, the harder I swam, the deeper I sank! Today, April 22nd, 2025, 6.5 years into my content creation journey, my path ahead is finally clearer. I have had several “Aha!” moments. It’s such a relief! I can bathe on the sand banks once more! 🏖 (That is, until I choose to ride the waves again! But this time, I know I will be a more capable surfer!) My Personalised Surfboard I finally designed and made my very own surfboard! (ie my content creation plan and my YouTube and Substack makeover). (Boy, did I change my mind about the design of my surfboard! đŸ€Ș I tried my best to design a plain and simple, single coloured one, but the only choice, for me, was to create one with a beautiful multi-patterned design, with all, not just some, of the colours of my soul! 🌈) Like an artist, I finely chiselled away at my board and made many alterations and enhancements along the way. Finally, I have a beautiful, steady, personally designed surfboard. This time, I know which way I want to surf, and I will be a much more confident surfer! Now it’s just a matter of learning to ride bigger waves! 😀🌊💙 [https://nobelnews.substack.com/p/welcome-to-my-new-podcast-and-content?utm_source=substack&utm_content=feed%3Arecommended%3Acopy_link] This is a public episode.
