Not Forsaken Podcast - Episode 4

Did God harden Pharaoh’s heart, or did Pharaoh harden his own? The answer, surprisingly, is yes to both. And understanding how that works might change the way you read the entire book of Exodus. In this episode, we tackle one of the most controversial passages in the New Testament: Romans 9:13-18. Paul’s words about God showing mercy to some and hardening others have troubled Christians for centuries. But Paul is not making this up out of thin air. He is quoting the Old Testament. So we are going to follow him back to Egypt, walk through the ten plagues, and dig into a piece of Hebrew grammar that most Christians have never heard of but that completely reframes the story. Along the way, we will look at 1 Samuel 23, talk about the difference between foreknowledge and predestination, draw on insights from scholars like Michael Heiser, J.P. Moreland, and William Lane Craig, and finish with a pastoral word for anyone who has ever felt forgotten while watching the ungodly seem to prosper. This is a public episode. Not Forsaken Podcast - Episode 1

What does a guy with five college majors, a failed video game idea, and a custom apparel company have to do with biblical ministry? More than you’d think. In this first episode, Andy introduces himself and the story behind Not Forsaken Ministries. This is a journey that winds through Hurricane Harvey, the loss of his father, a string of careers he never planned, and a moment of complete surrender that changed everything. It’s not the tidy, straight-line calling story you might expect. And that’s exactly the point. Along the way, Andy unpacks the verse that gave the ministry its name, 2 Corinthians 4:9, and why Paul’s words to a fractured church in ancient Corinth speak just as powerfully to the fractured church of today. If you’ve ever wondered whether God is still at work when life feels like it’s falling apart, this episode is for you. This is a public episode.
