We go down a bit of a mental health journey, as the last few months have been interesting. I think it is so important to speak up, share your feelings and ask for help. With this being my second summer alcohol free, it's time to reflect. Removing alcohol from my world was a choice, one made 2 summers ago after having the best time at my birthday party without it. I stopped drinking for so many reasons - the main being I wanted to feel my best self - and I had more genuine fun when I didn't drink. I am never judging or shaming anyone who drinks - I think it is so important for people to do what they WANT to do and what FEELS good to them. If you're scared of what your peers will think, or other roadblocks, I talk about that too. Thank you so much for listening.

Maya has such a unique story, but what stood out to me that most during this conversation was that the power of dance has been ingrained in her since a little girl. I talk about what I learned from my therapist (this week... if I did in all time I would need a few episodes), why I am not showing up to my softball team's game and voicemails !!
