Raising Kids Abroad: The Good, the Challenging, and the Unexpected

hen we moved to Germany five years ago, we knew we would be raising our daughter (and any future kids) away from the comfortable life we knew in the US and close to friends and family. What we didn't expect was the amount of changes and growth that would come as we have experienced multiple countries, cultures and approaches to parenting along the way. In today's episode we share a bit about the challenges, the growth and excitement that comes with raising our two little ones in Germany, Japan and now Italy.As you will notice by the first part of the recording, this will be our last episode for the foreseeable future. We've decided to take a step back from recording the podcast for a few months so we can refocus our energy and time to our family and ourselves. THANK YOU. We have loved the connection and conversations that have sprouted from these episodes. Thank you for being a community where we've been able to share and open up about some of the most challenging and exciting times of our lives. Our First Year in Italy

Our Religious Reconstruction After Leaving Mormonism

Over the past few episodes, we've broken down many points in our time abroad where we were faced with the decision to reflect and dive into what we truly believed. With time, we came to the painful realization that our religious views and beliefs held as Mormons had changed and we needed to intentionally reassess where we wanted to be spiritually without the structure of organized religion. So that's where we start out in this episode, piecing together our thoughts and desires to be intentional with our spirituality for us and our girls. Although far from perfect, we've been slowly building traditions and memories along the way and we're forming something that feels more personal and true to us than we've felt before. Rebuilding spirituality has been a journey on it's own, but we're happy to feel more authentic in our spiritual practices than we have felt in such a long time. Welcome to Our Story to Tell.
