Hear, O Lord, the prayer which we offer you, made worthy by the intercession of your faithful servant and our protection St. Nicholas whose witness during life on earth was pleasing to you as his prayer is now in heaven. We recognize our weaknesses and our sins, but we trust in the fraternal aid of St. Nicholas whom you, O Lord, wished to raise up in our midst as a sign and instrument of your providence. Sustain us with your prayer, O St. Nicholas, and do not abandon us, because we who invoke you as protector know that in you we have a valid model of Christian life, and a powerful incentive for advancing in goodness and virtue. We desire to have, O St. Nicholas, your faith, your hope and your charity in order to be more grateful to the Lord and worthier to be heard, but finding ourselves so poor we trust in the infinite goodness and mercy of the Lord obtained for us by your powerful intercession.
