Ep. 21 - Back To The Future: Reviewing 1995 & 2015 Seasons

Before Reverse Grid takes its own seasonal break, for the final episode of 2023 Chris & Lee take a trip back in time and delve into two classic BTCC seasons. 1995 is best remembered for seeing John Cleland secure his second BTCC Driver's championship in the Vauxhall Cavalier's swansong season, fighting off a spectacular late title challenge from Renault's Alain Menu, in a season where fellow BTCC legend Matt Neal also won the Independent's championship in his Ford Mondeo. Fast-forward two decades to 2015, which saw fellow Scot Gordon Shedden also secure his second BTCC title in a nail-biting finale, battling to the very end with season-long rival, Jason Plato. The season was also remembered for the number of driver-moves pre-season, with defending 2014 champion Colin Turkington, Jason Plato, 2013 champion Andrew Jordan and Aron Smith all serving their first seasons with new teams. In the second of a two-part round-up feature, Chris & Lee give a full season review by discussing and rating each of the regular drivers on the grid this year. The criteria are simple - we look at each driver who has appeared in at 3 least meetings and score them out of 10 for how well each of us feels they performed. Who exceeded on the track? And who are those who fell short of expectation, in our opinion? Part 2 concludes the countdown by reviewing the drivers who placed 14th through to 1st in the championship, starting with Tom Chilton and concluding with the eventual 2023 Driver's champion, Ash Sutton. The curtains finally came down on the 2023 BTCC season almost 2 weeks ago at Brands Hatch, seeing Ash Sutton achieve what many believe he would do and sealed his record-equalling 4th BTCC title and other records in the process. Chris & Lee catch up on all the highs and lows from the meeting, which gave us a mix of high emotions and some classic elbows-out BTCC racing in the famed reverse grid race at the conclusion of the campaign. Ep. 17 - The Pure Gold of Silverstone

While many predict that this year's title race is already all but over, the BTCC's recent visit to Silverstone proved that the old magic of the competition is still alive and - quite possibly! - so is Tom Ingram's claim to this year's crown. From qualifying on the Saturday, the penultimate weekend of the 2023 season still left us all guessing as Mikey Doble proved that the Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra was enough to stop NAPA Racing's pole-position dominance. Still, the weather proved once again to be a deciding factor in leaving us all guessing what was going to unfold on the track.
