Episode EP. 6: 5 Life Lessons  That Helped Me Navigate Cancer Treatment and Protect My Mental Health Cover

EP. 6: 5 Life Lessons  That Helped Me Navigate Cancer Treatment and Protect My Mental Health

I learned so many life lessons during my cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. It was as if my way of life was split in two parts, before my diagnosis and every moment after. I had to adapt, and to adapt, I had to learn and change.  Which wasn’t easy for me. I was used to being the strong one, the one who never needed any help, the one who could actually put everything on my plate down to help someone else with their thing. Cancer took that from me, and because of that, I felt a new kind of love from my community.  In this week’s episode, we’re talking about the 5 lessons that helped me navigate cancer treatment and protect my mental health. Cancer doesn’t come with a little pamphlet that tells you how everything in your life is going to change and what to do about it. They have those for medical treatments, but not for how the life you’re used to changing forever. That’s why I’m going to cut out the guessing game for you and teach you what I learned, so that maybe it will help you during and after treatment.  Tune in to hear what changed in my life, what was added to my routine, and what got better once I worked through a few stubborn habits.  Work with Eileen: Book your free consultation call to find out more about Eileen’s EcoSystem of Healing Coaching Package here!  [https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037] Follow Eileen on: Instagram: @eileen_lopez_tome_coach [https://www.instagram.com/eileen_lopez_tome_coach/] LinkedIn: Eileen Lopez Tome [https://www.linkedin.com/in/eileen-l-7a0849387/] Watch this episode on YouTube! @EileenLopezTome [https://www.youtube.com/@EileenLopezTome]  Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.  [https://www.sarahtullochwrites.com/podcast-production]

Episode EP. 5: Tattoos, Faith, and Tapping into Your Inner Strength Cover

EP. 5: Tattoos, Faith, and Tapping into Your Inner Strength

Inner strength and faith go hand in hand for me. I was raised Catholic, and I strengthened my relationship with God as I got older. And, throughout my life, I had to lean on my own inner strength to get through the day. They worked together to keep me focused and keep me moving forward, even when I was exhausted.  But both my inner strength and my faith were called into question when I was diagnosed with cancer. I couldn’t be the strong one anymore because I didn’t have that kind of strength to give. I shook my fist at God and asked why He allowed me to have cancer. My way of life was changing, and to get through it, I learned that I had to surrender.  In this week’s episode, we’re talking about tattoos, faith, and tapping into your inner strength. In the video episode, you can see my survivor tattoo, which reads, “Tabitha Koum.” It means, “Little girl, get up,” and it’s what Jesus said to raise a little girl from the dead. This phrase tattooed on my arm helps me remember that my faith and my inner strength are still with me, especially when I have to surrender to life’s circumstances.  Tune in to hear how I help my clients surrender and how I eventually accepted it after struggling with the concept.  Work with Eileen: https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037 Book your free consultation call to find out more about Eileen’s EcoSystem of Healing Coaching Package here!  [https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037] Follow Eileen on: Instagram: @eileen_lopez_tome_coach [https://www.instagram.com/eileen_lopez_tome_coach/] LinkedIn: Eileen Lopez Tome [https://www.linkedin.com/in/eileen-l-7a0849387/] Watch this episode on YouTube! @EileenLopezTome [https://www.youtube.com/@EileenLopezTome]  Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.  [https://www.sarahtullochwrites.com/podcast-production]

Episode EP. 4: How I Created My Recovery Coaching Package for Breast Cancer Survivors Cover

EP. 4: How I Created My Recovery Coaching Package for Breast Cancer Survivors

I didn’t get what I needed, so I created it myself. Surviving cancer was a bigger healing process than I ever thought it would be. My doctors were focused on the external healing - healing my body. Which is important! I need this body to live! And I wanted to live, so they provided me with everything I needed medically to survive.  But nobody in the medical team helped me through the internal healing of surviving breast cancer. When I first got diagnosed, I didn’t even know I’d need to heal internally from breast cancer. But I did, and I didn’t have anyone to turn to, so I ended up creating what I needed myself.  In this week’s episode, we’re talking about how I created my recovery coaching package for breast cancer survivors. My coaching program, the EcoSystem of Healing [https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037], was created by a survivor, for survivors. It identifies all the internal healing you’ll need, and I, a coach with over seven years of professional coaching experience, will help guide you through the healing process. Tune in to hear my process and how I can help you heal during and after cancer treatment.  Work with Eileen: Book your free consultation call to find out more about Eileen’s EcoSystem of Healing Coaching Package here!  [https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037] Follow Eileen on: Instagram: @eileen_lopez_tome_coach [https://www.instagram.com/eileen_lopez_tome_coach/] LinkedIn: Eileen Lopez Tome [https://www.linkedin.com/in/eileen-l-7a0849387/] Watch this episode on YouTube! @EileenLopezTome [https://www.youtube.com/@EileenLopezTome]  Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.  [https://www.sarahtullochwrites.com/podcast-production]

Episode EP. 3:  What Being "The Strong One" Will Cost You Cover

EP. 3:  What Being "The Strong One" Will Cost You

Being The Strong One was a waste of time. All the love and care I had for my family could still be expressed if I also took care of myself. It didn’t need to be one or the other, even though it felt that way at the time.  But culturally and socially, Latinas are raised to put the needs of others before their own. Everyone else’s needs were at the top of my to-do list. Which meant a routine check-up that could have caught my cancer diagnosis early was pushed off for years. And that wasn’t the only way being The Strong One affected my health.  In this week’s episode, we’re talking about what being “The Strong One” will cost you. Because there is a cost to constantly putting yourself last. I was forced to face the exhaustion, the poor mental health, and the chronic stress on top of my new cancer diagnosis, and it was horrible. Tune in to hear why I identified so hard with being The Strong One and how I eventually learned to ask for help.  Work with Eileen:Book your free consultation call to find out more about Eileen’s EcoSystem of Healing Coaching Package here!  [https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037] Follow Eileen on:Instagram: @eileen_lopez_tome_coach [https://www.instagram.com/eileen_lopez_tome_coach/] LinkedIn: Eileen Lopez Tome [https://www.linkedin.com/in/eileen-l-7a0849387/] Watch this episode on YouTube! @EileenLopezTome [https://www.youtube.com/@EileenLopezTome]  Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.  [https://www.sarahtullochwrites.com/podcast-production]

Episode EP. 2: What Being a 3rd Generation Cancer Survivor Taught Me Cover

EP. 2: What Being a 3rd Generation Cancer Survivor Taught Me

Cancer affects us all differently. We are all diagnosed with different stages and different complications. When I was first diagnosed, I felt completely lost, and if I were being honest, a bit guilty. I had neglected myself in a way that my mother and grandmother didn’t. They knew to get tested and screened regularly, and they taught me to do so, too. But I got so wrapped up in taking care of everyone else that I put off a routine screening for four years. They were diagnosed at stage one, and I was diagnosed at stage three. I was devastated, but in the midst of all the feelings, I could count on my mother’s and grandmother’s cancer road map. In this week’s episode, we’re talking about what being a 3rd generation cancer survivor taught me. I learned a lot from the women who came before me. They taught me how to endure and survive in the face of adversity. But through this process, I also learned how to let go of the more detrimental habits they picked up, so that I wouldn’t harm myself and pass them on to my own children. Tune in to hear what helped me through my diagnosis and what I politely left behind as a ten-year cancer survivor.  Work with Eileen: Book your free consultation call to find out more about Eileen’s EcoSystem of Healing Coaching Package here!  [https://app.paperbell.com/checkout/packages/204037] Follow Eileen on: Instagram: @eileen_lopez_tome_coach [https://www.instagram.com/eileen_lopez_tome_coach/] LinkedIn: Eileen Lopez Tome [https://www.linkedin.com/in/eileen-l-7a0849387/] Watch this episode on YouTube! @EileenLopezTome [https://www.youtube.com/@EileenLopezTome]  Podcast production for this episode was provided by CCST, an Afro-Latina-owned boutique podcast production and copywriting studio.  [https://www.sarahtullochwrites.com/podcast-production]
