Radio Mystery Theater The Final Vow 0134

Original Airdate: Aug 15, 1974 Episode 0134 “The Final Vow” Written by Henry Slesar, Directed by Himan Brown, Host: E.G. Marshall A priceless statue is stolen from Sister Pamela. So she quits her order to devote her time to finding it so it can be returned to a fellow nun who is dying. Help comes from an unlikely source. Welcome to our house. It's a haunted house, we admit, haunted by strange creatures, hidden terrors, the cries of spirits, and the moans of unravaged victims. But it's a pleasant place to visit, even if you wouldn't want to live here. We're going to introduce you to a most unusual heroine. Not the sort of woman you might expect to encounter in a story of crime and violence. You are hearing a familiar sound at the holy name convent, the sound of the holy sisters at their devotions. But if you had been allowed to enter the chapel and seen the faces half-hidden among the folds of their wimples, You may have seen something more than sacred concentrations because one of their number is missing. Starring: Rosemary Rice, Jack Grimes, Ken Harvey, Bryna Rayburn, Ann Potaniak

Episode Radio Mystery Theater Journey Into Terror 0133 Cover

Radio Mystery Theater Journey Into Terror 0133

Original Airdate: Aug 14, 1974 Episode 0133 “Journey Into Terror” Written by George Lowthar, Directed by Himan Brown, Host: E.G. Marshall Jane Stoddard finds out her new husband is a serial killer. Now she is forced to criss-cross the country serving as bait for the police. Welcome to a world of terror. To those of you who have never experienced terror, it is but a word. Quite meaningless, really. Altogether without substance. But to those who have felt its icy touch, it has the same mind-shattering meaning it had for Jane Prentice when Iris Patterson told her…. We never know what the morrow may bring, do we? Indeed, what unexpected turn of fate may change our lives within the next hour? The truth is, we may well see, but ignore, tell-tale signs which warn us of danger ahead, and when the blow falls, wonder how in the world we could have failed to take heed. Jane Stoddard took no notice of the telltale signs, and as a result, faced death in a horrible form. Starring: Lynn Loring, Roy Thinnes, Carol Titel

Episode Radio Mystery Theater The Frontier of Fear 0132 Cover

Radio Mystery Theater The Frontier of Fear 0132

Original Airdate: Aug 13, 1974 Episode 0131 “The Frontier of Fear” Written by Milt Wisoff, Directed by Himan Brown, Host: E.G. Marshall A chronic loser picks up an old typewriter at a pawn shop. Turns out the typewriter is the goose that lays the golden egg. But all that glitters is not gold; it could be blood. Welcome to the universe of the uncanny, to the land from which no traveler returns, alive or sane. It can be reached so many ways, down trails of terror, along paths of peril, or, strangely enough, through bustling city streets. There are no markers that tell you when you cross yhe frontier of fear. But once you do, there is no mistaking the horror that lies ahead. One expects to find terror in a haunted house or on the barren, windswept plains of the Aztec pyramids. But it is even more intense when it is encountered on the streets of a modern metropolis. In our little tale, Harry Dorne meets the unfathomable as he crosses the threshold of a pawn shop. But why not let Harry describe his frightening journey in his own words? Starring: Jerry Stiller, Paul Tripp, Bob Callaban, Bryna Rayburn

Episode Radio Mystery Theater The Beach Of Falesa 0131 Cover

Radio Mystery Theater The Beach Of Falesa 0131

Original Airdate: August 12, 1974 Episode 0131, “The Beach Of Fallisa” Written by Ian Martin, Directed by Himan Brown, Host: E.G. Marshall A quickie marriage to a local girl results in an island trader becoming an outcast. He must fight a voodoo religion and a business rival to restore his honor and his business and save his family. No storyteller is better loved than the gentle Robert Louis Stevenson, who wrote Treasure Island and A Child's Garden of Verses. But strangely there was another side to Stevenson. He was also the man who could write the blood-curdling history of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. And this tale of violence and voodoo, you're about to hear, called The Beach of Falesa. Copra is the oil from the coconut and is used in the manufacture of soap and margarine. 75 years ago, when Robert Louis Stevenson was alive, young Britishers would mortgage 10 years of their lives in the Pacific Islands to make their pile and come back to England to establish a business of their own. This then is Henry Wiltshire's story, which he can tell better than I. Robert Dryden, Evie Juster, Ian Martin, Alexander Scourby

Episode Radio Mystery Theater You Only Die Once 0130 Cover

Radio Mystery Theater You Only Die Once 0130

Original Airdate: Aug 08, 1974 Episode 0130 "You Only Die Once" Written by Ian Martin, Directed by Himan Brown, Host: E.G. Marshall Marge Miller has a beautiful life. Nice home, great husband, and a wonderful son. The husband she thought was dead comes back to extort from her the $55,000 in insurance money she received. Ferndale is an average small American town surrounded by nice middle class American homes. It is located in a middle America state and is about as representative of the United States and what its citizens are all about as you can imagine. Nobody in an atmosphere like this has any contact with violence or walks in any fear. Except, who knows what hides in the private jungle beyond any respectable door. Marge Stanley loves her mornings. In fact, she loves her whole life. It suits her. It's just her style. She's naturally a morning person. By 8 a. m., Billy is off for school and her husband Howard off for the bank. Then she has a long, long morning to set the house to rights, lays a little in the bathtub. Freshen and dress crisp and smart as always. It's a routine that never tires and is seldom broken. And certainly never as rudely and shockingly as this day that brings terror, violence, and the threat of death to her loved ones and herself. Starring: Joan Loring, Joseph Julian, Heddy Galen Dan Ocko, Tom Kenna
