Falling, Floating, Dreaming: The Magic of Twin Peaks: Episode 7: Realization Time | The Chariot | Twin Peaks S1EP6

Fuel.  Movement.  The magic transformation of potential energy into kinetic energy.  The magic flight.  The glory ride of momentum that carries you through the struggle and lifts you beyond the adversity into something else.  And the choice to kick the tires and light the fires.  The seventh episode of  Twin Peaks Season 1 is Episode 6 “Realization Time” and in this Episode, the penultimate episode of the first Season of Twin Peaks, we are riding the Chariot of momentum as the investigation is in full swing, characters are ‘going places’, moves are being made, and potential energy is being converted to kinetic energy.  Directed by Caled Deschanel and Written by Harley Peyton, Episode 6 first aired on May 17, 1990 and on this episode of Falling, Floating Dreaming: The Magic of Twin Peaks, we are turn our attention The Chariot Tarot card, the seventh card in the Major Arcana, as we ride along with the magical momentum of the denizens of Twin Peaks as they make choices that will nurture, change and turn their fortunes toward good or bad.  The investigation into Laura Palmer’s murder leads Truman, Cooper and Hawk, along with some help from fellow Bookhouse Boy Big Ed Hurley, North to One-Eyed Jacks’ to go undercover to find main suspect Jacque Renault after Waldo the bird Myna bird talks, connecting Leo Johnson and Jacque to Laura on the night she was killed.  Audrey moves through her plan with the confidence of the Chariot as she manipulates her way to One-eyed Jack’s as well.  James, Donna and Madeline Ferguson discover one of Laura’s taped messages to therapist Dr. Jacoby and plot to get him out of his office so they can find whatever secrets of Laura’s he holds there.  Ben and Jerry Horne continue their courtship of the Icelandic investors and pile them into a Chariot of their own for a ‘road trip’ to One-Eyed Jack’s to seal the deal.  Indeed, it seems all roads lead to One-Eyed Jack’s in this episode as the characters speed toward their ultimate destination in their own personal Chariots, moving toward some inevitable fate, rushing toward some ultimate horizon, speeding through the night like a biker ignoring the flashing red stop light at Sparkwood and 21; choosing the path that will lead them to the realizations waiting for them on the other side.     Featuring: Tyler Lyle [https://www.tylerlyle.com/] "The Secret Lair" Season 2, Episode 6 "The Chariot" The Midnight "Chariot" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LYM3o9iLe0] Bruce Springsteen "Soul Driver" [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jM3VmsUl7I]

Falling, Floating, Dreaming: The Magic of Twin Peaks Episode 6 "Cooper's Dream" | The Lovers | Twin Peaks S1EP5

The Blood Red Moon.  A rare, celestial phenomena that paints Luna red as she moves into the Earth’s dark shadow and becomes enveloped by the halo of the sun’s fiery ring of light ensorcelling the parabola of Earth’s perfect circle like an endless, golden dawn.  Even though our last episode focused on The Moon Tarot card, Episode 5 of Twin Peaks Season 1, the sixth episode of the season, “Cooper’s Dream”, this one  begins at 4:28am as Cooper awakens under the watchful gaze of full, red, blood moon; a harbinger of so much to come this episode; of eclipses and shadows, of lovers torn asunder and brought together, of mysteries revealed and curtains, red like the moon, concealing the horrible truth that must see the light of day; devils hiding like cowards in the smoke of the fire.  In this episode, a sleep deprived Cooper commits to his theory leading to his team up with his detective troupe as they head into the woods of Twin Peaks for an important encounter with the Log Lady who speaks of her former lover and husband and later,  all the way to a red-curtained cabin.  Audry Horne commits to actions of her own that take her to the perfume counter of her Father’s department store.  Ben and Jerry Horne flit with danger, sex and disaster as they court new clients for the Ghostwood project and Ben courts Josie Packard in a devious triple-cross scheme.  Dr. Jacoby counsels the Briggs family and speaks to Bobby of lovers, sex and commitment.  Donna, James and Maddeline Ferguson form a new lovers triangle and commit to a plan to find Laura’s killer on their own.  Shelly and Norma commit to each other; both jaded lovers trying to break the shackles of their lover’s bonds.  And Leland Palmer, the lost lover, dancing still, looking for a partner, looking for a ghost that isn’t there, haunted by the same music in the air, dancing in the Smoke Room of the great Northern Hotel, and Audrey Horne, the lover of the story with, as Cooper cautioned her, ‘a heart that yearns’, appearing naked and afraid in Special Agent Dale Cooper’s bed at the great northern to end the this episode of lovers, commitments and total eclipses of the heart.  ScienceCasts: A Tetrad of Lunar Eclipses ScienceatNASA YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gzgSuJM5O8

Falling, Floating, Dreaming: The Magic of Twin Peaks Episode 5: The One Armed Man | The Moon | Twin Peaks S1 Ep4

Illusion and transformation; sometimes confusion which leads to transformation.  Often, we must seek answers beneath the darkness; under the protection moon’s shadowy veil and conduct business wearing a dark cloak of secrecy.  What is revealed when the bright light of the sun is gone can often scry into dark and deep parts of who we are; secret recesses of the soul that can only be opened when illuminated with moonlight, seen only by creatures of the night, the beast within, the owl, the jackal, the fish.  Episode four of Twin Peaks, the fifth episode in season 1, is called “The One-Armed Man” and was directed by Tim Hunter and Written by Robert Engels.  It aired on May 3, 1990.  Confusion and Illusion run rampant in this episode as all of the characters run into befuddling and mystifying situations.  Cooper’s usual infallible investigative techniques turn out to completely miss the mark.  Deputy Andy seems confused and unable to perform his duties.  Sarah sketches a long-haired entity she saw in a dream-vision and a befuddled Leland tells everyone she had ‘two visions’ while a bewildered Donna hears this with great confusion.  Jacoby and Cooper sit in a conference room; Jacoby performs a magic trick; more illusions.  The One-Armed man from Cooper’s dream turns out, for now, to be an ordinary shoe-salesman that leads the detectives to Bob Lydecker’s Veterinarian services that provides ‘aid to the beast incarnate’.  James encounters Madeline Ferguson, Laura’s almost identical twin cousin, and is bewildered and confused.  Bobby plants evidence at Jacque Renault’s apartment; further adding to the obfuscation.  Nightfalls.  Moonlight shines on the running river.  Donna and James seek out the necklace and are spied on by an owl.  Norma’s husband Hank is paroled and harasses Josie like a stalking bear; a beast in the night.  Relationships unravel, confusion abounds and with the falling curtains of night, the eighteenth card of the Major Arcana takes shape as the investigation into Laura Palmer’s death continues and the mystery of Twin Peaks deeps once more, like a dark cup of coffee, black as midnight on a moonless night. Falling, Floating, Dreaming: The Magic of Twin Peaks: Episode 4 "Rest in Pain" | The Wheel of Fortune | Twin Peaks Episode 3

Closed circles and never ending, open spirals.  Maybe even black and white chevron patterns on the floor of the Red Room.  The fourth episode of Twin Peaks Season 1 is Episode 3, “Rest in Pain” and was Directed by Tina Rathborne, Written by Harley Peyton and Originally Aired on April 26, 1990.  This episode continues to deeper the mysteries around Laura Palmer’s death while adding a few new angles to the investigation for our team of detectives to pursue; illegal drugs being smuggled into Twin Peaks from north of the border and the revelation that a secret society of peacekeepers is at work in Twin Peaks and Special Agent Dale Cooper has earned his place among their ranks.  As the fortunes rise for some and fall for others, we turn our attention to the tenth card in the Major Arcana for this episode, The Wheel of Fortune as we consider the rise and fall of lives in Twin Peaks, the meaning of the closed loop and the eternal return, the power of the number ten (the number of completion) and consider which wheels are turning and which are not.  In this episode, Cooper discusses his dream of the Red Room with Truman, remembering every detail except the name whispered in his ear by Laura.  Cooper and Albert continue the investigation and Albert’s complete lack of couth causes major disruptions among the denizens of Twin Peaks.  Maddie Palmer arrives; Laura’s cousin, a dark-haired Doppelganger look-alike of Laura Palmer.  Norma discusses her husband’s upcoming parole.  Truman and Cooper interview antagonist Leo Johnson.  Bobby Briggs and his father have a confrontational chat before Laura Palmer’s funeral.  Albert delivered his final forensics’s report.  Nadene expresses her love for Ed, Audrey spies on her family through a secret space behind the wall.  The wind rustles through the trees.  At Laura Palmer’s funeral,; tempers rise and Leland Palmer ends up going up and down on Laura’s coffin, up and down, a rise and fall.  Copper is initiated into the Bookhouse Boys and brought in on a cocaine sting operation being run off book.  Cooper confronts Jacoby in a graveyard.  Leland dances along at Laura’s wake.  Hawk and Cooper speak of lost souls and wandering forever in never ending circles, like a record player stuck on a loop.
