Coach Kopatich talks about his journey to becoming a Head Coach from Ottumwa High School and Drake as a football player to becoming the first head coach of the new Waukee Northwest program when the school was founded five years ago. He shared some great details on how a school with no alumni or traditions has built a program that last year in year five reached the State semi-finals in Cedar Falls. Corey comes from a legendary Iowa Coaching tree. His Iowa Hall of Fame grandfather Jim Williams coached 50 years at Dowling Catholic, Iowa State and is Simpson College's all-time winningest coach in their 130+ history. His Father - Tom Kopatich (also an Iowa HS Hall of Fame Coach) won 2 state titles at Cedar Rapids LaSalle. His long HS Football Coaching career also included stops at Dubuque Wahlert, Davenport Assumption and Ottumwa.
