God wants you to ask Him for blessings in your life. The Lord stands at the door and is knocking on the entrance of your soul. Do you have ears to hear? As the Saints battled to hold their ground in Jackson County during the 1830s, many miracles took place. The Saints believed that they were founding the New Jerusalem in Jackson County Missouri. Joseph Smith received multiple revelations specifically identifying that area as the location for the headquarters of Christ’s church during the millennium. Many leaders of the church were sent to Jackson County to buy land and prepare for this eventuality. But this was not to be in their day. Mobs and state militia drove the Saints from Jackson County. After the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith, Newell Knight described them as two of the best men that had ever lived. They were his friends, and he had known them since Joseph was a teenager.
