Today I'm talking about mental health, the current pandemic, school online, and my unprofessional advice and opinions on how to cope and use techniques to calm the mind. I am not a professional in any way in these subjects, these are just my shared opinions and experiences. I also discuss ways to help those who may be dealing with suicide ideation, in honor of Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month. For better resources on how to find help for you or someone you know who is dealing with thoughts of suicide, please visit https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/talk-to-someone-now/ or call 1-800-273-8255 to talk to someone who can help. Today I am joined by professional artist Rosa Nussbaum, talking about the difficulties and rewards of building a career in art, how secondary education can have benefits and struggles, and more! I was lucky to have met Rosa during my first photography job at my internship at Women & Their Work Gallery in Austin, TX. She is a British/German artist who works at the intersection of performance and sculpture with an emphasis on interactivity and technology. Her work explores the place where the (female) body touches the institution. She received her BFA from Wimbledon College of Arts, London, UK in 2014 and her MFA in Studio Art: Transmedia from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018. To learn more about Rosa and her work, visit her website at http://rosanussbaum.com/and follow her on social media at http://instagram.com/rosanussbaum.
