Today on the podcast we are joined by INCENSE, a South African Christian Rap artist born in Soweto & raised in Pakamisa a Township outside King Williams Town, in the Eastern Cape, who has been an activist for South Africa’s now biggest Hip Hop Sub-Genre “Christian Hip Hop” since 2011, the year he pioneered TAKE TAKE THE MOVEMENT together with his friends. The movement reached more than 2000 young people who were transformed by the gospel carried in the God-inspired lyrics from poets and rappers. He grew up singing in various church choirs, but the love of poetry and rap was always deeper than singing. He comes from a very strong Christian family, so gospel music was the order of the day, yet pop culture and popular music sparked in him a deeper interest for the arts. DISCOGRAPHY Classified, 2013 (album) Dedications, 2014 (mixtape) The Process, 2018 (album) Songs For The Winter, 2020 (EP) Skhaftin, 2020 (EP) HONOURS  His mixtape Dedications received a nomination at the inaugural 2015 MZANSI GOSPEL AWARDS. in the HIP HOP ALBUM OF THE YEAR Category.  His latest album The Process debuted at number 1 on Google Play & number 2 on iTunes Hip Hop Albums Charts on 16 April 2018.  His latest album The Process got nominated at the 5 th Independent National Gospel Music Awards (INGOMAs) 2018, in the BEST GOSPEL HIP HOP ALBUM CATEGORY.  His latest album The Process got the nod at the 2018 SABC CROWN GOSPEL MUSIC AWARDS in the BEST RAP CATEGORY.  He completed a successful The Process Tour in 2018, with shows in Cape Town, East London & Johannesburg.  Appeared on South Africa’s premier TV Breakfast Show, EXPRESSO BREAKFAST SHOW on SABC 3, for an extensive interview and a performance of 3 of his hit singles from The Process on July 12, 2018.  His 2020 single PEACE was featured on Rapzilla.com, the biggest platform for Christian Hip Hop in the US.  His 2020 single PEOPLE YOU MAY KNOW was featured on Rapzilla’s CHRISTIAN RAP AFRICA playlist MUSIC VIDEOS  In September 2014 he released his debut music video off his sophomore album Dedications for the single Feminine Cries which enjoyed extensive air play on both Faith TV channel 341 on DSTV and Bay TV channel 260 on DSTV.  In March 2015, he released a follow-up music video for another single, Cloudy Days that also enjoyed an extensive play on Faith DSTV channel 341 on DSTV and One Gospel DSTV channel 331.  In July 2015 his music video Cloudy Days was aired on South Africa’s oldest and premier Gospel music TV show GOSPEL GOLD on SABC 1.  Recently released a music video for ANONYMOUS, a single of his number 1 album The Process. In March 2007 he became a Partner at Abdo & Abdo Attorneys, where he practised until March 2017, when he resigned.  He joined forces with Mapheq Financial Solutions to start Mapheq Estate Planning (Pty) Ltd in October 2020. He is a shareholder and Managing Director of the entity. In May 2021 I established Lwazi Dekeda Inc.  He holds a four year Bachelor of Laws Degree from the former University of Transkei and a post-graduate certificate in Income Tax Law from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. He was appointed, by the Minister of Finance, to the panel of Chairpersons of the S.A.R.S Tax Board, where he served for two 5yr terms between 2008 - 2013 & 2013 - 2018. Starting from birth, growing upheld many challenges and obstacles for Felicia. She was born in a Thai prison and lived there until the age of three. She was then separated from her mother and fostered in South Africa by her mother's best friend. Some of the challenges encountered by her include being both a victim and perpetrator of bullying; suffering depression, anxiety and panic attacks; self-harm, substance abuse, hopelessness, despair,  suicide, school difficulties, relationship difficulties, loneliness, grief, low self-esteem and identity crisis. It was when Felicia hit rock bottom at the age of 19, that she reached out for help. She had to look within all her pain she ran from for so many years, and with it began to find healing. With this, she found her purpose and started being a support base for young people.
