DIY Floral Magic with Amy McCord, Anyone Can Be a Florist?

Amy is an expert at helping people make their own beautiful flower decorations for weddings and parties. She tells us how she went from working with science and biology to starting her own flower business. Amy explains that anyone can make something pretty if they have the right instructions. Amy believes that you do not have to be a professional to work with flowers. Her business helps people feel brave enough to try it on their own for their own wedding, not for everyone but definitely for some Simple is Best You do not need many different types of flowers to make a bouquet look good. Amy suggests picking just a few favorites to keep things easy and pretty. Practice is Important It is okay to make mistakes when you first start. Amy says practicing before a big event helps you feel more ready and less nervous. Use a Good Plan Amy provides recipes and videos to show people exactly how many flowers they need. Having a clear plan makes the work much faster and more fun. Amy McCord's new book, titled Blooms Every Day, is set to be released on May 5, 2026. The book is designed to be very practical and accessible, offering step-by-step instructions and "recipes" for creating floral arrangements at home. The book includes projects for beginners, intermediate learners, and those with more experience. It teaches readers how to create beautiful displays using flowers that can be found at local grocery stores. The arrangements featured in the book are "foam-free," which is a more modern and environmentally friendly way to style flowers. Amy worked with a stylist and photographer to make sure the book feels fun and creative rather than stiff or intimidating.
