Brianca Jay is a writer and educator, who has a Masters in Literature from the Historic Texas Southern University. Both an educator and writer, Brianca Jay spends her days teaching literature to high school students; her dedication to literacy has allowed her to assist 250 students from low income areas in going to and through college. But, Brianca Jay's work does not stop there. She is recognized for mobilizing her community through social activism, and has been featured in the New York Times for her efforts to contact government officials through a letter campaign. Most recently Brianca Jay released her first children's book that empowers children to learn self advocacy, and foster the communication skills needed for positive social interactions. 3. My South Africa Documentary: Off To A Foreign Land

In the summer of 2013, I studied abroad at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. There I met so many beautiful people and the experience expanded paradigm or the way I thought of the world and my positioning in it. . The following Fall Semester, my film mentor Chase Rees helped me bring my vision of a documenting this experience into a film. We story boarded together, we set up light, he filmed me in his studio, we edited together, he helped me organize my raw footage, etc. This film won a Silver Remi for Short Student Productions at World Fest International Film Festival. WorldFest was founded in 1968, is the third longest running and oldest independent film festival in the world. . The music used in this film is Kothbiro by Ayub Ogada and the National Anthem of South Africa Shosholoza sung by Sam Tshabalala. Moonchild Sanelly is a South African musician and dancer. Her music has reached audiences beyond South Africa's borders, playing in Europe and the United States. In August 2018, she went on a European tour with South African hip hop group Die Antwoord. Her music fuses elements of experimental electronic, afro-punk and edgy-pop with hints of her strong kwaito, hip hop and jazz background.
