However, as we saw in our recent study through Proverbs, sayings such as this one are not hard and fast rules. They may be generally true but don’t promise a guaranteed outcome. And who’s to say that we’re even training up our children the right way? Parenting is not for the faint of heart. This class will focus on some of the specific challenges of trying to raise up godly, resilient children who don’t fall apart when life gets hard. There won’t be any easy answers offered, but you’ll be blessed to hear the collected wisdom of fellow parents and some practical ways to help your kids develop emotional strength, character, and responsibility. Judges: Returning to God Episode 12: Take a Little of This and Mix It With a Little of That (Judges 17-18) The mantra of Judges, “Everyone did what was right in his own eyes,” is nowhere more evident than in the character of Micah, who had no problem mixing the worship of Yahweh with the worship of hand made idols in creating his own brand of religion. And the worst part? He had no awareness that what he was doing was wrong! Even today, we could be guilty of creating God in our image, a God who behaves the way we want him to behave.
