Ehyeh (I AM): Jesus the Bread of Life, Light of the World, and God’s Unconsumable Presence Lesson 5 in the series on God’s names focuses on Ehyeh/Ehyeh Asher Ehye (“I AM,” “I AM THAT I AM”), revealed to Moses (Exodus 33:19) as God’s answer to Israel’s 400 years of slavery and need, and fulfilled in Jesus, whose “I am he” displays power (John 18:4–6). The teaching reviews Elohim, El Elyon, and Adonai, then explains why Jesus’ “I AM” claims in John are consequential, especially “I am the bread of life” (John 6:35) and “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12): Christ satisfies spiritual hunger, and believers must “eat” the Word, not chase feelings. Names of God (Ehyeh) Part 1

Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh: God’s “I AM” in Exodus and the Plagues of Egypt Lesson 4 in the “Names of God” series focuses on Ehyeh ("I AM"), drawing from Exodus 33:19 and Exodus 3:14 (Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh, “I am that I am”).  Pastor Ryan explains that God’s name is a covenant signature showing His self-sustaining, ever-present sufficiency, not limited by time, and able to fill the gaps created by human failure and bring people back into alignment with His will. Moses’ call after Israel’s 400 years of slavery is used to show God working behind the scenes, including Joseph’s role and Israel leaving Egypt with wealth. The burning bush is presented as a picture of Jesus containing God’s consuming fire, and Jesus’ “I AM” claims in John are linked to Ehyeh. The ten plagues are described as God dismantling Egypt’s gods (e.g., Nile, frogs, sun/darkness), culminating in Passover blood covering households from judgment. Names of God (Adonai)

Adonai: From Lord to “My Lord” Lesson 3 on the names of God focuses on Adonai, drawing from Exodus 33:19. And he said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you and will proclaim before you my name ‘The Lord.’... Contrasting earlier names Elohim and El Elyon. Adon (lord/master) describes authority, hierarchy, ownership, decision-making, and accountability, confronting a “vending machine” view of God and stressing that true salvation shows fruit and surrender, not mere attendance or a prayer. Adonai adds the Hebrew suffix conveying personal, covenant relationship—“my/our Lord”—which requires human choice, not coercion. Using Genesis 15, Pastor Ryan explains Abraham calling God Adonai and the “walking the pieces” covenant, portraying God and His Son bearing the covenant on Abraham’s behalf.
