Veteran's Health Forum - June 23, 2024 - Balneo Kur a Social Event w/ Dr. Marko Koscak

Following in the footsteps of the " Grand Tour " promoted by the British travelers in the 18th and 19th century, the classical Balneology cure is in its core nature a social expression of leisure time with a quintessential medical twist. Few travelers choose to go to a cure on their own. The " healing time together" is the historical tradition of the original BALNEO movement. In the retrospective analysis of the pandemics, the small group travel will represent the only one alternative to the hysterically pushed mass tourism and its grotesque " Europe in 5 days experience ". The ultimate pandemic lesson will always be that HEALTH TRAVEL constitutes the only form of true tourism equally beneficial for guest and host alike. We also approached the interesting subject of " Kur Reunion " as another aspect of the social event of the Kur. Friends from different parts of the world coming together , as was the case in the pre- World -One era, to celebrate their summer recreation around the Balneo centers , is a typical part of the Kur. The friends gathering at the mineral water spring or in the thermal waters historical pools is in fact a collective and fundamentally beneficial healing experience with colossal therapeutic values. The motivation to get better and to absorb nature's potential to the highest degree can only be achieved if experienced in a totally relaxed and friendly atmosphere and in a great company of friends , sharing the same feeling of accomplishment. The periodical return to the Balneo Kur can be regarded as one of main characteristics in Balneologie. The preparation of the return over several month prior to the physical event , together with the reconnection to the Kur friends and the anticipation of the Kur reunion can represent an extremely valuable physiological element in the success of the on coming Kur. At the end of our episode we analyze the " family effect " on the participants and the considerable advantage when accompanied by a family member. The shared experience, the evidente improvement in health condition as well as the adopting of favorable changes in life will be substantially amplified when shared with the family. Returning home will be somehow a challenge in respect to implementing beneficial changes . With dedicated family support, however, the Kur's success will be guaranteed. We hope our program will help our veterans to develop new hope in fighting afflictions, dependencies, chronic disorders and health challenges of all kinds.
