Ep 15 From WAHA to 34 Years of Service | Legacy, Discipline & Growth with Earl Filmore Jr.

From WAHA to 34 Years of Service | Legacy, Discipline & Growth with Earl Filmore Jr. In this powerful episode of The Welcome Legacy Podcast, I sit down with my cousin Earl Filmore Jr., who grew up in Ocklawaha, Florida, and went on to serve 34 years in the United States military. Coming from the same side of the family on my mother’s father’s side, Earl was influenced by his father, who served in the United States Marine Corps. Growing up in an environment surrounded by drugs, pressure, and negativity, Earl chose a path built on discipline, leadership, commitment, and service. In this episode we talk about: • Growing up in Ocklawaha (WAHA) • The influence of a Marine father • Military discipline and leadership • Family, responsibility, and legacy • Beating the odds and staying focused • Advice for the next generation This conversation is bigger than military service — it’s about growth, purpose, and building a legacy that lasts. If you’re trying to level up, stay disciplined, lead your family, or break cycles, this episode is for you. 🌐 Real Estate: If you’re looking to buy, sell, or invest in real estate, visit WelcomeLegacy.net or contact me directly. 🎧 The Welcome Legacy Podcast New episodes every Wednesday at 7:30 PM 🎵 Music by James G. Episode Episode 13: Trained in the Storm — Discipline on the Road Cover

Episode 13: Trained in the Storm — Discipline on the Road

🎙️ Episode 13: Trained in the Storm — Discipline on the Road In this episode of The Welcome Legacy Podcast, I talk about what really builds you. After about 150 hours of training on the road, my trainer told me I didn’t need to complete the full 200 hours. I was ready. But that readiness didn’t come easy — I trained in sleet, rain, and snow. I didn’t get perfect conditions. I got real ones. I break down what life on the road taught me — from meal prepping instead of eating junk at truck stops, to doing push-ups daily, walking 3–4 miles around truck stops after long driving shifts, and staying disciplined physically and mentally. I also share what it meant to have my 12-year-old ride with me and witness the grind firsthand, and how I used downtime in the truck to study for my real estate license while earning a living. This episode is about structure, discipline, fatherhood, and using pressure to sharpen you instead of break you. If you’re training in tough conditions right now, don’t quit. The storm might be preparing you faster than you realize. 📚 Books by James G. Episode From Rock Bottom to the Open Road — How My CDL Changed Everything Cover

From Rock Bottom to the Open Road — How My CDL Changed Everything

🎙️ Episode 12: From Rock Bottom to the Open Road — How My CDL Changed Everything In Episode 12 of The Welcome Legacy Podcast, I pick up where Episode 11 left off and break down what rebuilding my life actually looked like in real time. After leaving my old environment, my family and I moved to Kissimmee in early 2019. During that season, I was searching for legal paths forward—joining a LegalShield marketing team, attending meetings, and even creating an online course called How to Fail Forward, teaching how to use failure as fuel while I was still living it. By October, I was already in communication with CareerSource and had started trucking school. In the middle of the process, my family moved, housing became unstable, and during my final week of CDL school in Dundee, we were told we had to leave due to having too many people in the home—11 total. I talk about attending TDI Trucking School in Sanford, staying in a hotel Monday through Thursday for three weeks, driving home on weekends, and finishing strong even after my wife and kids moved more than 100 miles away to Newberry. This episode covers getting my CDL, landing my first trucking job with J&R Schugel, life on the road, studying real estate while trucking, buying my first home in 2021, and earning my Realtor license in 2022. This is a story about discipline, sacrifice, and using a legal skill as a bridge to stability and ownership. If you’re under pressure, rebuilding your life, or trying to do things the right way for your family—this episode is for you. 👉 Like, Share, Subscribe, and comment what stood out to you.

I Was Addicted, License Suspended, and Stuck — How Discipline Led Me to My CDL

I Was Addicted, License Suspended, and Stuck — How Discipline Led Me to My CDL In this episode of The Welcome Legacy Podcast, I tell the truth about a season of my life when everything felt lost. I open up about battling addiction, dealing drugs, getting a DUI, and losing my driver’s license for five years. I talk about the role my grandmother played in my upbringing, the pressure of fatherhood, and the moment I realized I couldn’t keep repeating the same mistakes. This episode is about being stuck—and choosing discipline anyway. I share how my cousin pushed me toward getting my CDL, how I went on the road with him, studied, came back, and took the test. That decision became the turning point that helped me start rebuilding my life the right way. If you’re struggling, feeling trapped by your past, or trying to find a legal way forward, this episode is for you. Discipline doesn’t change everything overnight—but it opens the door. 👉 Like, Share, Subscribe, and comment what you took from this episode. 📝 Spotify Episode Description
