Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock light up the screen in this thriller that may jump the shark when it jumps the highway and the subway tracks. Chelsea and Elena debate the chemistry between the leads and talk about the actors who passed up being Jack Traven and Annie Porter. We also talk about how Joss Whedon rewrote the Speed script and why we probably won't be seeing any new Jan de Bont movies any time soon. And although Dennis Hopper is a fantastic bad guy, we have a few questions about the logistics of his ransom / terrorist revenge plot. Elena and Chelsea discuss why Jenny Slate is an underrated rom-com QUEEN, why Ben Mackenzie's surprise cameo is oh so delightful, and we also debate whether this movie crams in one subplot too many (looking at you, theater kid with the gay dads). We also celebrate the surprisingly great Atlanta setting, and spend an entirely reasonable amount of time discussing why ripped Manny Jacinto with long hair really works for us.
