72 episodesIn this episode Daniel talks to Andreas Bummel, Sovaida Maani and Chris Hamer about a few methods of getting to a world federation. Each is an expert and champion of their respective method. This is how some foresee the world actually going from where it is to where we want it to be, and many lessons are taken from the establishment of the EU as you will hear.
In this episode Daniel interviews Sovaida Maani, an international lawyer with 20 years of experience and founding director of the The Center for Peace and Global Governance. We then move onto how she got involved with World Federalism and her experience with the UN. We go over a variety of topics and Daniel asks her the usual interesting battery of questions for all guests, including what would she do if she was the master of the movement for a day. We also cover the fallacy of talking about something, and equating it to action, a major watch out for all movements.
In this episode, Daniel speaks to Bob and Donna of the Citizens for Global Solutions organisation in the USA. CGS is the main World Federalist Organisation in the United States. During this they speak about campaigns, plans, ideas and dreams for the wider movement. They also touch on some ideas they'd like us to discuss in the future.
In this episode Carla, Daniel and Shannon look at the Kardashev scale of civilizations, and try to alter the way we look at the term. We're often preoccupied with a very earth based view of the universe, but we're really a tiny speck. We then look at the Fermi Paradox and the Great Filter, as we wonder why we can't see other species and the issues that might imply.
Lead along by Carla, Shannon and Daniel explore the ideas around Carbon Tax and Dividend structures, and how they would function in Australia. This is in response to an article written in the Conversation. We were all very tired and/or hungover during this episode.
