Jeremy Delay on Time, Marriage & Building a Life Together

This episode of Breyking Through the BS sits down with Jeremy Delay, co-owner of Grocery Outlet, [https://www.groceryoutlet.com/circulars/storeid/167] for a conversation about marriage, business, routine, and the real value of time. Jeremy shares the story of working high-paying jobs that cost him moments with his family, missing a full year of his child’s life because work consumed everything. That realization changed the trajectory of his life, leading him and his wife Amy to leave everything behind, move states, and start over in a city they had never even heard of before landing in Yuba City. The episode dives into: * Building a 30-year marriage that still feels intentional * Working alongside your spouse every single day * Why time is more valuable than money * Escaping the trap of overworking * Small-town community connections * Walking instead of driving and learning to slow down * Human connection in a disconnected world * Creating a life centered around presence instead of status This is less of a business podcast and more of a perspective shift on what actually matters when the clock keeps moving. We All Have Demons: Alex Oskian on Trauma, Eating Disorders, and Learning to Live With What Stays

In this episode, we sit down with registered dietitian Alex Oskian to talk about the parts of her story that shaped her the most. Alex opens up about growing up during her mom's declining health and eventual death, and how she coped by controlling the one thing she thought she could control: food. What started as restriction became an eating disorder that followed her through high school and college. At her lowest, she was under a hundred pounds at five foot nine. She'll talk about the CrossFit coach who planted a seed about nourishment and strength, the journey toward recovery, and the hardest part: the demon that never fully leaves. This isn't a recovery success story wrapped up in a bow. It's about learning to live alongside what we've been through, understanding that control is an illusion, and recognizing that we're not alone in our struggles. If you've dealt with disordered eating, trauma, or using control as a coping mechanism, this conversation is for you. From Motherhood and CrossFit to Addiction, Jail, and Rebuilding a Life

Abbey, owner of Yuba City CrossFit, shares her story from where it all began to where she is today. What started with motherhood and finding CrossFit after having her first child quickly became something much bigger. She pushed herself, competed, and built a deep connection to the sport and the community around it. But behind that progress, she was struggling. Abbey opens up about how things shifted into alcohol addiction and how that path led to jail time. She talks honestly about what life was like inside, the people she met, and the routines she created to get through each day. That experience forced her to take a hard look at her life and the direction she was heading. Since then, she has rebuilt everything. Now three years sober, Abbey shares what it took to repair relationships, rebuild trust, and create a life she is proud of. She also talks about how that journey shaped the environment she has built inside her gym. It is a place where people are encouraged to show up as they are, to fail, to be uncomfortable, and to grow. This episode is for anyone who feels like they have messed up, lost their way, or needs proof that it is possible to start over and build something better.
