Acerca de Existentially Blonde Podcast

This podcast unravels the questions we often avoid -death, identity, shame, and meaning - while also exploring the cultural and political realities of 2025. Drawing on psychology, philosophy, sociology, and history, I examine how we consume information, grapple with belief systems, and confront the shortcomings of institutions. Existential themes run throughout, from the anxiety of death and the isolation of loneliness to the ways people create meaning in uncertain times. Episodes are built on in-depth research, drawing from books, scholarly texts, and carefully cross-referenced sources, and are woven with personal reflection, mentorship, and professional experience. I aim not only to share knowledge but to model open-minded inquiry: presenting opposing perspectives, exploring why we struggle to change our minds, and showing how emotional awareness can help us move toward more rational, empathetic dialogue. Listeners are encouraged to seek out voices they disagree with, to find common ground without sacrificing critical thinking, and to reflect on how ideological extremes-whether left, right, or rooted in identity-can distort our shared humanity. Along the way, I’ll draw on historic figures and events across philosophy, politics, religion, and culture to inspire, teach, and warn. The goal is not to glorify or condemn any single perspective, but to learn from the wisdom and mistakes of the past to think more clearly about how we live today. If you’ve ever lain awake questioning your existence or society’s strange logic, this is a space to think deeper, stitch together the chaos, and feel less alone.

Episode 2: What does it mean to be informed? introduction and overview (part 1 of this mini series)

Hi everyone! Welcome to my podcast, Existentially Blonde. Thank you for stopping by. First off, let me start by saying I accidentally uploaded the wrong version so the last second or so is not trimmed. My final edit had a smooth cut off point with some text information about the next episode. Its no big deal- just FYI in case one person makes it to the end 😂 Anywho, this video is a brief overview about “being informed,” what that means, how this idea has evolved over time, and some unique challenges we face in the information age we live in. I introduce key terms and ideas that will be expounded upon in subsequent episodes. Hopefully you find something interesting or useful in this segment. Please share your thoughts if you have reflections or insights to add. Don’t hesitate to ask questions or provide feedback. Thanks! P.S.- In the next episode, I discuss the development of democracy in the 19th century and important figures, like Robert Lowe and John Stuart Mill whose ideas and beliefs are still relevant today when we think about access to information and our perceptions of being informed.
