In this episode I sit live with Rich up in his home after we ran a breathing, pool training and ice exposure event in Noosa, Australia. Rich and I have been chatting for a year after I found him exploring and sharing his breath and CO2 training. Rich is a calm cool and collected individual who is meticulous with his words and actions. He is someone who lives it day in day out for himself and is incredibly conscious of choices he is making about his life, his family and his environment. This episode is a deep dive into creating a life you love, owning your stress response and what we can learn from sharing and coaching no matter how far along you are on your journey. You can find Rich on Instagram here - @richjburrows [https://www.instagram.com/richjburrows/?hl=en] and keep your eyes peeled as he runs more breath and stress training workshops along the eastern coast of Australia. As always thank you again for your time. Give us a share on instagram - @OFFBALLathlete [https://www.instagram.com/offballathlete/?hl=en] & @martinjreader [https://www.instagram.com/martinjreader/?hl=en] and please leave a review on Itunes and send a screen shot of this conversation to a friend who would gain from hearing Rich's wisdom. This a long winded story time with the beauty that is Harvey Martin. He is a performance coach who works with elite athletes to connect their mind and bodies beyond the game. In this episode we get some incredible stories along his path to becoming a professional pitcher. Spoiler alert, he didn't wind up playing pro, however, the lessons he learnt along the way allowed him to access parts of himself he is using to support others to reach their peak expression. My dear friend and fellow coach Vince Luciani is a leader in the conversation around transcending athlete identity. This conversation is meant to provoke thought and support athletes, coaches and parents to think bigger for themselves and those around them. Stay with it until the end as we share how the passing of our respective fathers has made a profound impact our lives. You are more than an athlete. We have been conditioned to love ourselves conditionally as a result of stats and outcomes of sport yet we are human beings that are far more that our physical and athletic output. This is an incredibly timely and relevant conversation about defining yourself BEFORE you enter the field of play. This is about you validating yourself as a human being before you step into your role as an athlete, coach or parent. Vince is a world class coach who guides performers to understand who they are beyond the game.
