Check your Boobs! !!! A raw conversation about breast cancer.

Breast Cancer awareness month or Pinktober is coming to an end but that doesn’t mean awareness needs to stop. In this episode I have the privilege of talking with my friend Megan about her recent battle with breast cancer. Megan is 36 years young. The same age as I am as well as lots of my other friends. Early detection is key to saving lives!! Megan shares when and how she found the cancer and it wasn’t because she did a self-exam! In fact doing a self- breast exam isn’t something she did. Like many women our age don’t and it’s not even recommended to get checked until 40-45! But what if Megan would have waited? Megan shared with me that statistics show more women of color are dying as compared to white women simply because of lack of early detection awareness. She has made it her mission to advocate for her community by educating and empowering women to check their boobs! She shares her journey in our candid conversation and educates us on so many things like where and how to donate to local women in need battling breast cancer. She wants to give breast cancer a face and make us aware that it is doesn’t care who you are or what you look like or what your social status is. It can happen to anyone. Mental Health Check
