8 episodiosDr. Jill Stein of the Green Party has been gaining in popularity across the country over her stance against US funding for Israel’s attack on Palestinians and her critique of the Harris campaign. Many have demonized her for “taking away” votes from the democrats but is that actually true? What does she actually stand for? In this interview we break it down. Many of us have taken to the streets for months, years, and even decades to fight for an end to the atrocious genocide in Palestine. Recently a ceasefire resolution came and went with no end in sight. In this conversation, I speak with Alana Hadid about investing in a free Palestine, her thoughts on the ceasefire resolution, and her new project Watermelon Pictures. You can find Alana on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/lanzybear/] and learn more about Watermelon Pictures here [https://linktr.ee/watermelonpicturesco]. With the upcoming election, we keep hearing the pressure on voters to vote for the lesser of two evils. But this election feels more like voting for the greater of two evils. Palestinian Pharmacist Mohammed Imad joins me to discuss what he has experienced in the war in Gaza where he was born and raised, how it has damaged his mental health, and what people abroad can do to stop the attack. The interview is in Spanish as Mohammed is Trilingual but felt more comfortable speaking Spanish. I have translated most of it for you. You can find Mohammed on Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/mohammed_n_imad/], and his fundraiser to evacuate his family to Egypt Here [https://gofund.me/1ae10b38]. In last week’s episode, we discussed media bias and how it alters the way we look at things like foreign policy, and in particular the Palestine Exception. In a few days, we will hit the 6-month mark of the October 7th attack in Israel and Palestine. And over these past 6 months, we have seen the consequences of Western media’s dehumanization and disinformation of Palestinians on a massive and heartbreaking scale. Nearly 40,000 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli government through a series of bombardments and ground invasions. More than half of those being children. And this is the consequence of genocidal propaganda and media bias. Real lives are affected. People die. But the Palestine exception as we talked about last week, isn’t new and it doesn’t just stop at Gaza. Since its occupation, Palestine has been divided into two. Gaza and the West Bank. This division has made the occupation more effective, especially after the blockade on Gaza went into effect and the wall was built. The October 7th attack brought all eyes on Gaza, but Israel has not left the West Bank alone this past 6 months. In fact, it’s gotten much worse than ever before in the occupation. Journalists have been arrested and killed, undercover Israeli officers have attacked and killed hundreds of Palestinians, and settlers have only increased their brutality and violence in their attempt to steal more Palestinian land. So in order to get a better sense of what’s been happening there I reached out to my journalist friend Nida Ibrahim of Al Jazeera.
