3. Pleasure and Possessions (Ecclesiastes 2:1-11)

Episode Summary Can we find happiness and meaning in the things we can buy—in pleasures and possessions? The Preacher shows that we can literally have it all in this life, and still actually have absolutely nothing. 2. 'That's Life' (Ecclesiastes 1:1-18)

1. The Wisdom of Wisdom (Proverbs 1:1-7)

Episode Summary Wisdom helps us learn how to live well in the world that God has created, but we need to be careful we don't observe the creation apart from a right relationship with the Creator. What's more, the gospel actually supercharges our search for wisdom by showing us the path to the best life there is: a life which continues in Christ forever. 8. Lukewarm (Revelation 3:14-22)

Episode Summary In the church at Laodicaea, total dependance on the Lord Jesus Christ has been supplanted in favour of lukewarmness—neither being hot nor cold. It's this condition which nauseates the Lord of the church, so much so that he wants to spit them out of his mouth. To return to a state of burning bright, the centrality of the Lord Jesus in the life of the church, and the lives of individual believers, needs to be reclaimed. This final letter to the churches leaves us with the searching question, 'What's your temperature when it comes to Jesus?'
