An Executive Juris Doctor degree or certificate is not designed to prepare one to qualify for any state bar exam. It has been designed to meet the needs of business executives who need to understand the law, without necessarily being prepared to argue matters in a courtroom. The traditional study of law takes years. All of the major doctrines of law are provided in this publication and have been arraigned to be an order consistent with the traditional study of law. I have devoted twelve chapters toward the study of contracts. In the real world, unless one passes contracts, or can make up the balance from the other first-year courses, criminal law and torts, you just don't get to go forward. All of the courses that follow the first year are better understood once one understands contracts, torts, and criminal law. Getting a good grasp of the basic courses is necessary to understand the general principles of law.
